Snape is loyal to Dumbledore & the OOTP. And probably Harry. Harry will kill Voldemort, likely with Snape's help. Snape killed DD because he was dying anyway, and it would solidify him as a spy for the OOTP and bring him closer to Voldemort. Snape will be instrumental in Harry finding & destroying the last of the horcruxes, but I have no guess as to what the last ones are or where they are located.

I'm not sure Harry's a horcrux... but I'm with you on Snape as a good guy.
