100 Questions for the Seiyuu fan
1. Please give us your name.
galeaya :3
2. Please give us your birthdate and blood type.
04-10, O+.You don't need the year, right? ;3 Hint hint: my birthday was on a Wednesday. >: )
3. Your occupation is?
Thesis slave! Hohoho~
4. How long is your history of being a seiyuu fan?
Seiyuu fan, seiyuu fan... when was it that Gensoumaden Saiyuki started airing in AXN? That was the time... I was in elementary? Grade 5-6? Hmm... I was 10 years old, I guess. o.o
5. Please state male seiyuu that you like.
Konishi Katsuyuki. : D But but but there's too many after him, so I'ma give just the top five: 1. Konishi Katsuyuki (for all the roles, serious and cracky alike), 2. Seki Toshihiko (Duo Maxwell, Sanzo), 3. Sugita Tomokazu (Gin-chaaaan), 4. Noriaki Sugiyama (Ishida Uryuu, BL uke roles that were really surprising!), 5a. Hiroki Takahashi (Eiji Kikumaru, Superbi Squalo, Japan), 5b. Hiroki Yasumoto (Germany, Agni, and just his voice in general), and 5c. Okiayu Ryoutaro (Tezuka and the Meganes. YEEEEEEEAH NUFF SAID).
6. Please state female seiyuu that you like.
Saiga (WOLFRAAAAM... and her voice in general, it's awesome!), Kaida Yuki (Shounen Omyouji! I've never seen the series, but I've heard her voice there.. woah. Fuji Syuusuke as well, of course), Minagawa Junko (;A; I love her)... Paku Romi (cause she's a hoot IRL)
7. Who is the very first seiyuu you knew of? From what title?
Seki Toshihiko, as Genjo Sanzo from Gensoumaden Saiyuki when it first aired in AXN. But it was only after I heard their chara songs from the first movie that I found myself wanting to know more. Then I found out he was Duo Maxwell in Gundam Wing... and Umino Iruka from Naruto. I was sold.
8. Who is the very first seiyuu that you liked?
Ah. I just answered that I think.
9. What male seiyuu do you tend to like? (e.g. A low and rough voice)
Low and suave. Sexy-low? Not the demonic from-six-feet-under type. Think Suwabe Junichi in Bus Gamer, that's the one. Or or Yasumoto Hiroki's normal voice. Or they could be cutesy and kinda uke-ish without sounding... you know, annoying. Kinda like Noriaki Sugiyama in his first BL drama. Nice job, Non-tan! :3 But but but it would be really cool if they could do both. owo.
10. And the opposite, ones you tend to dislike?
Annoyingly high-pitched voices which have no business being there. And voices from beyond the grave.
11. What female seiyuu do you tend to like?
Ones whose voices I can hear without having to cringe in the high-pitch-iness of it all.
12. And the opposite, ones you tend to dislike?
I just said that.
13. Have you ever been to an event, live, stage performance that seiyuu were in?
That's... kinda impossible for me, living in this place and all. But I've watched a lot of videos, does that count?
14. What event was it? Around when?/For those who haven't been, an event that you'd like to go to.
I just said that it was a lot \=...=;)7 But I would have personally wanted to go to Aniplex 2010 for Kamina-aniki! Koni-tan, you were awesome!
15. Do you subscribe seiyuu magazines?
It's impossible for me...
16. Have you "come out" about liking seiyuu?
Come out.. that makes it sound like it's some kind of sexuality that's generally considered a deviant from society... seiyuu-sexuality? Eeeeh.. But I've never felt any need to hide it. o.o
17. Of the people around you, fans of which seiyuu are there a lot?
I am... the only one who's like this, I think. : D
18. Does your family also like seiyuu?
I don't think they even understand the concept of it
19. You often watch anime and play games for the seiyuu.
Yes. Beelzebub, Hetalia, skip!Beat, Samurai Deeper Kyo, various BL dramas...
20. You're also interested in variety shows and documentary narrations.
Japanese ones..? That's kinda hard to acquire here, you see. But if we're talking about this in general, then it's a resounding YES.
21. If seiyuu that you liked were in it, it doesn't matter if it has a minimum age limit (R, NC-|7, etc.)
HAHAHA ARE YOU KIDDING ME WTH IS WITH THIS STUPID QUESTION
22. If seiyuu that you liked were in it, it doesn't matter if it's a Boys Love AGAIN STUPID QUESTION
23. ...Rather, do you like Boys Love works?
WHAT IS WITH THE STUPID QUESTIONS?! XDD anyone who knows me knows the answer, lalalala.. (as well as anyone who's read my answers before this, lalala)
24. Have you ever had a case of "This character's voice is this person!"?
Is it like, have I ever had a moment where I went, "Ah, this voice... it must be that person!" Hell yes! The first one was Seki Toshihiko, when I first heard him yelling in his Iruka voice... I had an epiphany and realized that he was Sanzo as well... XD
Or if it's the other way, "... FTW THIS CHARA WAS THAT PERSON?!" Then, also, HELL YES again! Super super many.. but the one I remember the best was Hiroki Takahashi's shift from Kikumaru Eiji to Superbi Squalo. That was... o.o There was no way anyone could have recognized that!
25. Have you ever had a case of a sudden cast change that didn't go over well with you?
None that I remember. o.o
26. Have you ever been surprised by the gap between (a seiyuu's) voice and face?
Noriaki Sugiyama. Haha, and to some extent Konishi Katsuyuki as well. I was... surprised? Haha, maybe even taken aback for a while, but the love for their voices just... cured(?) it all. Haha, that doesn't make sense.
For Non-tan, when I finally had the chance to see him in seiyuu events, I kinda began thinking that, "Ah, this person's looks really fit his personality! And the way he speaks normally is really different from his charas... heeee, so shy and cute~!" And I began liking him even more. And of course, the fact that he's always so serious about his work! Waaah, if there was one person who'd I suspect of practicing beforehand that tablecloth trick in the Kuroshitsuji Valentines event, it would Non-tan... he wouldn't want to make an idiot out of himself, but at the same time, he wouldn't want to brag either. He just wants to do this best work... so cool. <3
For Koni-tan, when I finally saw him in seiyuu events, I kinda began thinking of him as really fun-loving and warm... XD A mesh between an "aniki" and an "onii-chan" so to speak, if anyone gets the meaning behind that. A big brother who demands respect from his stature, but at the same time emits such approachable vibes that you just can't help but want to talk to him... which definitely clashes with the charas he was more known for at the time. But of course, when he began with the Kamina roles... LOL, that move was gold. And of course, we can't discount the fact that he has a lot of serious moments, even on stage... Not as obvious as Non-tan, but when he gets serious, you can see that he really means business and won't take things simply as a laughing matter.
27. Are looks important for a seiyuu?
Well, seeing as they have to use their voices more than their faces, it's not an everyday necessity? But then again, if the're going to go on promotional events, then it would be nice if they could clean up a bit. I mean, looks aren't all about being handsome or pretty; the way a person carries himself, the type of aura... those are parts of one's looks as well. If they can manage to make those presentable enough for the audience, then it wouldn't matter if they didn't look idol-ish. That's what I believe.
But then again, I guess that could just be me..?
28. There's been detection of a scandal for seiyuu you like! What would you do?
Find out the truth with all my power!
29. Are there any seiyuu of the same gender that you admire?
Saiga~ <3
30. Do you yourself have confidence in your voice?
Yes, I'd like to think so. :3
31. Frankly, you want to become a seiyuu!
I'd be exciting, but I'd want to train first before doing anything! I wouldn't want to just suddenly barge in and lose face...
32. What is the most expensive seiyuu related good you've purchased? BTW, how much was it?
Hooo.. my chara song cd collection? (Yay, I'ma boast about my collection here! XD)
Meganes collection... Meganes is the trio group of Hidenobu Kiuchi, Tsuda Kenjiro and Okiayu Ryoutaro formed for the Prince of Tennis series. They have five singles: Go Go Meganes, Manatsu no Meganes, Odori masenka Meganes, Kira Kira Meganes and Sayonara Meganes. I have them all, limited editions and everything... I really did everything to get them!
Also also also! I got Fuji and Tezuka's duet single, Fuji's Billy's Target Single, Aozu's white Line single, YamaGoku duets Oretachi no Joy and Oretachi no Yakusoku, Kujirai Kousuke's Ready...
Plus the shipping... I guess, all that would amount to approximately 18,oooyen? That's about P10,000 with the taxes. Probably more, I think I'm underestimating some of the costs.. owo At the time I thought months of denying myself luxuries (including lunch, haha!) in order to save up for those was reasonable. I still think that today. XD
33. You've had a work that you've been anticipating disappointingly only be aired on WOWOW, BS, CS (pay cable networks).
YES. ;A; HeroTV and Animax are only being carried by SkyCable, and we only have basic cable here in our place. SkyCable doesn't have coverage here... or so I've been told. It's suspicious that about two blocks away from us, there's a house there that gets SkyCable service. ;o;
34. You've thought "I want to live in Tokyo..." before (For shows and events only in Tokyo/Kantou region)
HELL YES. ;A; I think that everytime there's an event.
35. Extras (special footage, figurines, etc) that only come with a DVD don't settle well with you.
Well.. you know, it's hard making a living as a seiyuu... so they really have to bait fans like this. I understand that. And you know.. when there's a will.. there's a way. : D
36. Becoming an anime and becoming a drama CD, which makes you happier?
Anime, since I don't speak Japanese. Not to say that I don't subscribe to DramaCDs, because I do, no matter the language barrier. But you know, it would be easier for me to get the anime, since there are more anime subbers/translators than there are for DramaCDs.
37. You listen to seiyuu radio programs.
YES. There was even a time when I really waited for ReboRaji to come out weekly.. as in, wait for it in the original Japanese website. Haha, nothing could stop me! (Except for my crappy connection, and of course, the unevitable end of the radio show when the anime ended)
38. You've had a postcard (that you sent in to a radio program) read before. Or actually, you live to send in postcards?
I've send a postcard.. but not to a radio show. Send a postcard to Tsuchiya Yuuichi for his birthday, along with many other Tuti fans. XD Couldn't write too much, of course, so I just wrote Happy Birthday in English and drew him a cake.
That was the one and only time, although I'm quite tempted to do something for Konishi's upcoming birthday. o.o
39. You've sent fanletters and presents to seiyuu you like.
Tried to send one to Okiayu Ryoutaro once, but again, the language barrier was working against me. I had actually drafted a letter, but never had the guts to send it. O.o
40. List the top three works you think to have a very luxurious casting.
NeoRomance! Whoaaaaa. And Hetalia, just look at the cast. Prince of Tennis has everyone in it, so that counts?
41. (Regardless of whether you like them or not) List the top 3 seiyuu you think are really cool (kakkoii).
Kakihara Tetsuya, for being a runaway kid from Germany who had the guts to go to Japan even though he wasn't all that fluent in Japanese (and actually getting a seiyuu job because of that! Hoho!) when he was just in his early 20s.. guts! And it's a plus that he knows German, Japanese, English, French and Latin.
Morikawa Toshiyuki, for being TEH EMPEROR. Not just the BL Emperor, but just.. just.. TEH EMPEROR. Just imagine this... Katsuya Jounouchi from Yugioh being the same person as Conrad Weller from Kyou Kara Maou being the same person as Sephiroth being the same person as Kurosaki Isshin being the same person as Saiyuki's Homura being the same person as Naruto's daddy Minato Namikaze being the same person as the one who's conquered majorty of all the other BL seiyuus' BL uke virginities! -BREATHEs- AND HE SINGS. AWESOMELY WELL, MIGHT I ADD. If I wasn't so in love with Konishi's personality, this guy.. this guy would definitely be one of the top... (Sadly, aside from being tremendously impressed with his work, I haven't had a character of his that I'd emotionally bonded with, so he's not one of my top five).
Third one's a hard one... but I'ma say... Morita Masakazu? For being a newcomer but rocking everyone's world and destroying all of their preconceived notions about him sucking, for being such a great stage performer and entertainer, and for not being ashamed of doing that majorette dance thing! And his laugh... so contagious! <3 This guy... if you're depressed and on the vergo of killing yourself, just listen to this guy laugh, and in seconds you'll be forgetting about all those nasty depressing things... Nice singing voice too, btw.
42. (Regardless of whether you like them or not) List the top 3 seiyuu you think are really cute (kawaii).
Yoshida Hitomi, Reborn's Haru. I don't know of any other role she has... but I think I heard she was in Yugioh 5Ds. The first time I saw her, I really began thinking that she was so cute.. and then she spoke. XDD And I was.. o.o but still cute! XD Kinda spazzy, but in a nice way. And her singing voice.. woah, awesome! I wish she had more roles. Really underappreciated.
... and that's it? I mean, I get pretty impressed with seiyuus in general, but it's rare for me to think that they're cute. I mean.. cute as in, they make me say "kawaii" involuntarily... Hitomi-san is the only one who's ever had me do that. Not even Kyoko could, haha! XD
43. (For various reasons) List the top 3 works that were quite shocking.
Shocking.. in what way? o.o I guess Hetalia, for the sheer number of fans it attracted? Haha, I didn't want to touch it at first, 'cause I thought it was kinda stupid. But then I found out that Hiroki Takahashi was going to be there, and since I was still hung over with Squalo and Eiji, I decided to give it a try. Was glad that I did, or I would have never found out that I had been admiring Konishi's voice unknowingly for years already. And a new found love for Noriaki Sugiyama blossomed for his role as chibi!Iggy. And discovering the wonders of Yasumoto Hiroki's laugh... <3
So I guess I've been in Hetalia for the seiyuu? XD Something like that. I guess most fans are, too.
Shocking, shocking.. quite literally, I was shocked with Sensitive Pornograph. Haha, oh god, I just said it, I just did. And then, you know, actually recognizing the voices in the anime while they were screaming and doing.. stuff... it was shocking.
Skip!Beat... was a good shock for me, I think. I mean, I came to the series because I saw that Konishi was a main chara, and it had Mamoru Miyano in it too, so I thought, "Eh, why not?" But then it turned out quite well I guess. I was quite hyped when I was watching it, despite the guilty feeling in the background (for watching shoujo and liking it, wah) and the somewhat powerful self-disgust I felt when I found myself doing a marathon (it's shoujo, what reaction did you expect from me!?), but it had me crying at times. I guess, specially during the part with the little kid and her daddy issues.. Huh, in restrospect, that and Konishi's chara were the only things that I really was watching the show for. Still it surprised me that I was able to stand 25 episodes of it in one sitting. owo.
44. Are there any seiyuu that, just by chance, (your) opinion of them improved?
Noriaki Sugiyama, top of the list. Not so much because of his personality, but because of the improvement in his skill. Have you guys heard the older songs he sang vs the new ones? Just compare... say, his Ishida Quincy chara song vs. the Chu-Bura cover song he did recently. Quite an improvement, I say. And the chara voices too, they're not just stoic and unfeeling this time. I mean, when I first heard him as Sasuke, a literal image of a rock entered my mind. But now.. the little inflections in his voice, the meaningful pauses... even the minute hitches... artfully, wonderfully done. Great job, Non-tan!
(And he's not as shy as before anymore, he even laughs so loudly now! Or is it just because he was hosting with Yasumoto Hiroki? XD)
Konishi too, I guess. I mean, I fell in love with his idiot charas first, hello America and Kamina, specially because of the idiot chara songs (that I use as my alarm, lol)... but then I discovered that he was Toya from Ayashino Ceres! Voice of my teenybopper fandreams and whatnot! Haha, then I found out he was Haji as well... then Soubi.. then Kou of Monochrome factor... I just died. And then his personality! Haha, just.. haaaaaah... <3
45. Are there any seiyuu that, just by chance, (your) opinion of them dropped?
Miyata Kouki? I had high opinion of his voice... but but ah.. When I finally saw who he was in a Kyou Kara Maou event.. I was kinda let down. But I think that was just momentarily... I regained my high opinion of him when I saw him at NeoRomance... but then he did the Hanataro role, and I was kinda let down again... o.o/
46. Is there an official seiyuu site that you always frequent?
Does Konishi's twitter page count? XD
47. Is there a seiyuu fansite that you always frequent?
LJ COMMs. Hibiki Forums.
48. Is there a seiyuu fansite that you manage yourself?
I don't have the courage!
49. What do you think of fansites? Also, going through a fansite, has anything ever changed for you?
Fansites are great if they can provide you with information (new and old) about the fandom. Bad if they're nothing but clutter in the web.
50. Halfway point. A word at this lookback point?
:3 yatta..?
51. List the top three seiyuu that you think sing really well.
Morikawa Toshiyuki
Mamoru Miyano
Yoshida Hitomi
Others who were just a note away from being there: Konishi Katsuyuki, Morita Masakazu, Taniyama Kisho, Ono Daisuke
52. Please give a seiyuu that you really like the music for (you often listen to as regular music).
I need Konishi like I need my morning coffee - at least 3 cups, extra large dosage, or I would be irritable and uncomfortable (and uncomfortable to be with) the whole day. Twice that if it's that time of the month. Also, Gintama songs, but they're not really seiyuu related, are they?
Used to do this with the Meganes too. XD
53. Besides seiyuu, please give musicians that you like.
Rie Fu? XD DOES, Aqua Timez, Asian Kung Fu Generation, Porno Graffitti, Captain Straydum, yoking, Sunset swish, baseball bear, cool joke, miranosand, uverworld, yui, kelun, hearts grow, tommy heavenly, beat crusaders, takahashi hitomi, katou kazuki, shirota yuu, aluto.. lalal why so many... ;;;;;
54. For karaoke, you mainly sing anime and seiyuu songs; or would like to sing.
but but karaoke here only has english songs... and voltes v. I sing to myself most of the time, alone in my room. usually op/ed covers though. but I do chara songs too.
55.Your favorite anime/seiyuu song is?
:^ \ It was bad enough that I had to chose a top five fave, now you want me to choose a song too? ;A; Michi by Aluto. Probably because come hell or high water, I will never forget how to sing that song. The Lyrics have been engraved in my mind.
56. What work was the start of your liking seiyuu?
Gensoumaden saiyuki. This is liking with concious effort, right? If we're talking about liking as in started-to-take-notice-of-but-not-really-putting-that-much-effort-to-find background-info liking, then... Gundam Wing.
57. If a seiyuu you like is in it, do you think "I want to see all works, regardless!"?
Haha, yes. I've been doing nothing but exactly that these past few weeks for Konishi, and I've even done the unthinkable in watching (and finishing in one sitting) Skip!Beat. I mean, when I was telling my friends this they had the same expression on their faces: !(O.O)7 . . . I've moved on to his works under the name Bakuhatsu Fuji now though (his ecchi alias, lol).
58. Do you watch foreign movies dubbed?
Not really, I mean, I've never had the opportunity to... although I'd like to see the roles Konishi has done, specially Transformers: Reveng of the Fallen. XD On the flip side, I watched the Yugioh movie dubbed. The Anubis one. Pyramid of Light was it? Haha, I got shocked when I heard Yami's voice... But Kaiba was... <3 Haha, no matter what language, Kaiba is always awesome. Even with the Fildub!Kaiba I didn't have any problems. Joey's was a little.. weird though. Gave me nightmares.
59. Is there any "For this foreign (movie) star, the dub has to be done by THIS person!" for you?
Haha, if Seki Toshihiko uses his Sanzo voice for Snape, that'd be epic. Marina Inoue for Hermione! (I suddenly had a creepy vision of Non-tan doing Draco...)
60. Please recommend some movies (Foreign, Japanese, Anime, all included)
Spirited Away! And that movie whose title I cannot for the life of me remember, but it was about these three hobos who find a baby in the trash and try to raise it / return it to where it came from, etc, set in Christmas time. Something about Tokyo.. and uncles.. They even have a scene where they tried to board a train, but was kicked out midway cause they really smelled bad... One of them even won the lottery at the end. AH! TOKYO GODFATHERS~ I think.
61. Do you work with doujin (fan circles)?
I read doujin... XD
62. Have you ever used a pen name/handle name that was a take on a seiyuu or character you liked?
Before I was galeaya, I was cama. C for Cagalli (Gundam Seed), A for Angeline (no anime references here), M for Mutou (Yugioh) and A for Anelo (no anime references there either).
Other than that... I think I've tried to use Yamadera once, but then I found out that there was actually a seiyuu with that name, so I stopped.
63. Have you ever named your postpets, "Doko demo issho" characters after seiyuu or characters that you like?
Postpet? Nani nani?
64. What are the images/ringtones/strap for your cell/PHS?
Erm.. lessee... My start-up image is UK and chibi!US, my bg/screensaver image is pirate!UK, my shut-down image is US and chibi!UK, my incoming video call image is US holding a phone to his ear and my outgoing video call image is UK on the receiving end of said call. No straps for this one, but the case has a Union Jack design. Alarm tone is America's Hamburger Street. Message tone is an sfx taken from Gintama. Ringtone is not anime related though (Tom Hardy's smexy voice in RocknRolla, haha).
As for the other phone, strap is Gin-chan in Shinsengumi uniform, no ringtone or message tone cause it's always on vibrate. Start-up message is *pnish* related, shut-down image is Fuji Syuusuke (actually, Fujiko, from the family parody they had, with Tezuka as the dad and Momoko as Ryoma's big sister and Kaoru as the baby). Whew, that was long.
65. What is the wallpaper and sounds for your PC?
Wallpaper is Konishi. And a starry background. In orange. That's like combining the top three things I'd readily kill for all in one awesome package.
Didn't mess with the system sounds, but I used to have Okiayu Ryoutaro's voice as my default in my desktop.
66. Do you have any anime and game related desktop accessories?
Used to have folder icons and cursors with Naruto charas, England and Japan shimeji... there was another program like shimeji where I had US, UK and Japan.
67. What kind of mouse pad are you using?
No mousepads, but I buy a lot of them for display purposes. Naruto ones, mostly. I think I also have Kuroshitsuji in there somewhere.
68. Do you have any seiyuu and anime/game posters decorating your room?
I can't stick anything to the walls, but I do have hanging posters! Naruto, SasuNaru-ish in tone. I have a lot of posters in storage too: HunterxHunter, Naruto, Gundam Wing, Saiyuki, Bleach, Ookiku Furikabutte, Ranma...
69. Were you a TV child from an early age?
If that wasn't obvious by now, I really don't know if you've been paying attention.
70. Are there any seiyuu/characters that you're good at impersonating?
;A; It would be an honor... but no, the honor is not mine to relish, I regret.
71. What female seiyuu do you think works well at voicing boy roles?
Mitsuki Saiga. Kaida Yuki. Paku Romi. Minagawa Junko. Saiga, btw, voiced both of my favorite charas in the Zoids series, Raven and Jamie. And have I mentioned Wolfram? XDDD Aaah, she needs more love, this woman.
72. What male seiyuu do you think works well at voicing female roles? (WTF?)
Akira Ishida. LOL. Seriously though, have you heard him do that? I have, and he was only even jokingly doing it too! It was an episode of Oh! Naruto Nippon, and he was jokingly trying to speak as Gaara in Orioke. It. Was. FANGASMIC. (Junko agree, I'm sure. She was laughing her head off).
73. What seiyuu works well at voicing an elder brother or sister role?
brother: Onosaka Masaya. This man can do just about everything, I think. XDD But most of the time, people think ecchi when they hear Masaya... he's quite serious about his work though.
brother: Konishi Katsuyuki. Haha, Shouri ring any bells, anyone? How about Kamina? XD I think he can probably do a serious older brother if the role required for it.
brother: Itou Kentaro. Just imagine it. Wait, no, you don't have to imagine it, just go wait for the anime version of the Koisuru Boukun... Wait for the scenes he does with Kaname, you'll see.
brother: Paku Romi. XDDD
74. What seiyuu works well at voicing a younger brother or sister role?
sister: Kugimiya Rie (in tandem with the Paku Romi up there. Ed/Al? Switzerland/Liechtenstein? Hope I spelled that right)
75. What seiyuu works well at voicing a teacher role?
Seki Toshihiko? For being Umino Iruka. Ah, Konishi too. I've definitely heard it somewhere, although I can't remember exactly where it was. Okiayu too.
76. What seiyuu works well at voicing children roles?
Kugimiya Rie's Kagura is a good example. I mean, like seriously, a good example. No sarcasm there. Kagura sounds like a preteen girl, but not like a shrill whistle. The seiyuu who did young!Gin-chan's voice in the movie trailer sounded good, too. I wonder who that person is.
77. What seiyuu works well at voicing the bad guy?
Depends on what kind of bad guy... gay bad guy, Masaya. Kooky bad guy, Konishi. Emo bad guy, Okiayu. Fucking-Hot-As-Hell bad guy, Morikawa Toshiyuki. Like-an-uncle-slash-oyaji bad guy, Fumihiko Tachiki. The sly super suspicious ones, Fukuyama Jun. He can play gay bad guys too, but Masaya would still be my first bet. XD Inoue Kazuhiko too.
78. You make one too! "(Seiyuu name) is good at (_________) roles!"
Midorikawa Hikaru is good at both seme and uke roles!
79. "I wish that (seiyuu name) would increase the number of (_________) roles..."
I wish Non-tan would increase the number of uke roles. XD
80. What male characters do you tend to like? (e.g. A nihilistic villain, etc.)
Before I tended to gravitate toward the Sasuke-types: emo-wannabes with a dark past and a taste for revenge. But now, I find myself leaning more toward the tsundere types. Guy tsunderes do exist you know! XD And the stupid types who believe that their guts are the only things they need in life (Kamina, lol).
Ultimately, I'd say the character that I love the most has all these charactertistics... and that is Sakata Gintoki. XD
81. And the opposite, what kinds do you tend not to like?
Whiny ukes. Ukes that act like girls. Where the hell is your pride as a man, whiny uke! Being gay doesn't equate to being whiny and helplessly dependent!
82. What female characters do you tend to like?
Hmm.. what was the name of that chara.. anyway, she's from Skip!Beat, she's the one the protagonist keeps calling Mako-san. I like that type. Strong, confident, and not afraid to show it. Also independent.
83. And the opposite, what kinds do you tend not to like?
The ditsy whiny airheads with no apparent purpose but to be the love interests. Orihime was about to become this, but then the Arancar thing happened, and I sort of regained my respect for her. I mean, she wasn't taken against her will so to speak. She chose to go with them because she thought it was the best option. And that thing with saying goodbye to Ichigo.. <3 Hime, ILU.
84. Please list your favorite 3 characters.
This again! Easier this time around though, I think: Sakata Gintoki, Gokudera Hayato and Genjo Sanzo.
Haha, totally different characters! But really, they might not be so different after all...
1. They're all complicated charas: pasts are complicated, and you never really understand what they're thinking. Let's imagine them in a serious scenario from one of the episodes, shall we? We all know about Gin-chan's mysterious past (rather, we all don't know about it), and though it seems as if he's buried the memories deep in his mind, he stills dreams of them frequently, still is being haunted by his choices in the past. And his relationship with his sensei, with Sakamoto and Katsura and Takasugi... ;A;
Gokudera.. think of the episode with Gokudera's mother and father in it, and the piano and the issues... Obviously, if we take out the humor factor in Gokudera's chara, we're left with that interwoven web of complicated mommy and daddy issues. And of course, his usefulness issues with Tsuna... ;A;
And Sanzo. Do I even have to? Daddy issues with Komyou Sanzo, Trust issues with just about everyone, issues with Goku, his past in heaven... just about everything is an issue with Sanzo. He's like my version of a fangasm when it comes to complicated characters.
85. Please give how long you've liked your favorite characters.
Ginchan - since 2008 or 2009
Gokudera - since 2007
Sanzo - since I was ten years old, lol.
86. What do you think of entertainers (idols, actors etc) taking a stab at voice work?
If they're good, why not. If they're really bad at it, then please, just don't force it even if they could bring tons of new fans to the fandom. You have to think of the long-term effects here! You not only alienate seasoned anime fans (who you can be sure will come back to your franchise if they like the dub because they were anime fans from the start), but the fanbase of new fans that you have built around the voice actor in question might just as easily leave the fandom if and when said actor leaves it (since they weren't really anime fans in the first place).
87. Who do you think is an entertainer likely to try voice acting in the future?
: D not too familiar with Japanese entertainers, but here in our country, they've tried making actors do voice acting jobs... some were fail and some were totally fail, but there were some that did okay. Personally, I'm not going to be touching that even with a thousand foot pole.
88. Is there anyone who you absolutely don't want to know that you are a seiyuu fan?
Konishi. Haha, with the amount of stuff I have on him, he'll probably report me to the police for stalking if he ever found out.
89. One day, suddenly, a person who you thought never had any interest in anime and seiyuu talks to you about seiyuu. What would you do?
Welcome that person with open arms~ <3 Unless of course this person likes the seiyuu types that I hate.. l(=__=;)7
90. A seiyuu that you like is bashed by another person. What do you do?
Feel really bad. XD Probably ask why, and make an objective assessment as much as I can. If they have a point, then I concede. If they're just being bigoted, then that also gives me the right to be bigoted and fight back. You just can't do that, you know, bash a seiyuu without good reason.
Good reason: bad voice acting, bad singing, maybe even bad attitude toward fans and other seiyuu...
Not good reason: ugly, fat, too short, too tall, too bald... those that pertain to things that a seiyuu does not have control over / does not have any relation to their profession
91. Speaking of major seiyuu, who do you think of?
Major... Konishi? XD He's big enough to be invited to Aniplex 2010, so he counts right?
92. Among the seiyuu that you like, do you think they're major (well known?) Or are they minor?
Mostly major. Or actually, they don't have that much roles to their names, but they're pretty well known for the few roles that they've done.
93. Do you think of yourself as a teenybopper?
: D sometimes I sound like one, but I'm not one. Definitely.
94. Since you are cheering them on, do you want (seiyuu that you like) to become popular?
Of course I do! It's going to put more food on their plate after all! :3 (But then again, Konishi has an Iphone4, doesn't he? And Non-tan's family is rich, or so I've heard... Seki-san is doing National-level theatre, too... Must be nice...)
95. Give an episode related to seiyuu that was happy.
Not too sure what this means, but Konishi's America is almost always happy. XD Oh, and Kamina, before episode 8. Gin-chan.. well, that entire series is almost too happy everytime. XDDD
96. Give an episode related to seiyuu that was trying.
Trying... Skip!Beat last 2-3 episodes for Konishi? But then again, he did say that he's had a hard time doing America, so that's probably trying for him too. Non-tan's BL drama! I wonder if it was as trying as he made it sound. XD
97. Give an episode related to seiyuu that was embarassing.
AH! I have one! True story... it was that Gintama episode where Gin-chan had to sing Sen no Kaze ni to get the dead souls to pass onto the next life... but since it's Gintama, it had to be done in a cracky way. Sugita Tomokazu (Gin-chan's seiyuu) had no choice but to sing the classic song like a drunk person, and well, it was fun to listen to. But apparently, his mother had chosen that day to watch Gintama on the tv, and she was so embarassed because she thought that Sugita was doing it to be annoying or something (she totally wouldn't accept that he was doing it for the part), and so she forced him to apologize in the following episode. And he did, on air, good kid that he is. XDDD
98. About how much longer do you think you'll remain a seiyuu fan?
As long as I have ears to hear.
99. To you, what is a "seiyuu"?
The outlet of an anime chara's tamashii.
100. Good work, it's over. Give one last comment!
Aaah.. I wish I can meet Konishi-san someday. <3
