The Merchant: 2. I think his name has something to do with his occupation. Maybe. As to his real name, I haven't really decided what that is, or if I want to do that at all. "The Merchant" is part of his rustic, stinky mistique, after all.
3. What? He's got a cockney accent, glowing eyes, and a big coat. How could you not tap that RP potential? I originally had some grand ambitions about a weekly/monthly visit to the Nexus to sell really bizarre things, like some of our other Nexus vendors. People could theoretically sell stuff, too, only to have him re-sell it at a later date. He might also dig through your garbage.
4. He was burned by Saddler, after not getting proper recompense in gems, ornate pipes, and gold bullion. He got himself a plaga instead, but there was some issue with the infection proper -- possibly a defective larva that couldn't maintain the usual connection with the master. Or the Merchant just drank like a fish and the plaga was steeped in alcohol. Or both.
5. He will endeavor to move in with Salazar (again). Claiming to be his long-lost uncle. He will also use everyone else's toothbrush but his own.
Adil: 2. His first name is of Arabic origin, meaning "righteous and fair." I think it suits him well, even if he has a bitter, angry coating to his moral, upright filling. And I keep misspelling his noncanonical last name -- Nadhir, which means "warner," which is a silly word. The meaning works in context, but I chose it more for the flow of the name. And the fact that it's also Arabic.
3. If I remember correctly, I made him for a mix of plot purposes and some passing interest in him as a character. I think I was just bored for a moment and got to thinking too much about how his character could be rounded out, especially as an exploration of what life was like for the survivors of the Cuvier/non-Tuners.
4. Again, he comes from an Arabic family -- recently immigrated to the US -- probably his grandparents/parents were originally from the region, but he was born on US soil. He spent most of his life in New England -- mostly New York. Aaaand ended up on the other side of the country in time to hide in a hole. :3
5. Right about now, he's in the Lovecraftian Dreamlands. Maybe he'll find love with Cthulu.

This is either the ONE thing in Salazar's life that would be the most traumatic, or is merely pure comedy. You be the judge.
