If he's startled awake, he'll have a brief fit of Junkyard relapse wherein he'll reach for a weapon, first thing -- probably the same general place by his bed that he put it in the Junkyard. He'll get a jolt when he finds his gun isn't there, and thus realize where he is.
If he wakes up normally, (by himself) he'll does a brief series of stretches to get all of the tautness of sleep out (more involved than your typical morning stretch). He'll also make his bed the moment he's out of it. After that, it's the first tea of the day, or he might boot Heat out of bed to go run a few miles.
If he wakes up at Vic's he'll be a little more leisurely about getting out of bed. In this case, he'll probably pick up a book and read a little, or just kind of meditate in the moment.
While he's waiting for toast or water to boil, etc, he'll clean a little around the kitchen. During breakfast, he's probably reading something. If not a book, then anything of substance that he finds around. (You don't leave anything lying around that you don't want Gale to read.) In general, he eats a lot, since he's a big guy, but pretty quickly so he can move on to other tasks.
