[The first is a doodle that's slowly materializing onto the pages of the journal. Looks like it's being drawn very carefully, since it takes a while before it finishes. There's a lot of erasing

[Late? So what. He's been spirit hunting all day, and he wants to do a quick check on the network before he sleeps to see if Kefka's trying to pull anything else - or if any other catastrophes happened - but instead he sees the doodle. He watches for a few seconds before speaking.]

You all right, kid?

[Anise blinks - her room is pretty quiet at this time of night so hearing Locke speak up like that is kind of a surprise.]

--- Sssh, Locke! I'm supposed to be asleep!

[He'll chuckle just a little.] Then why aren't you?

-- Because I can't sleep. It's not hard to figure out, Locke~

But why can't you sleep? [He's got a good idea, though.]

I've got a lot on my mind...? [Which is true, anyway.]

[And obvious, Anise. He'll be quiet for a moment.] Stuff from home?

Sort of. Stuff from here, too.

Do you want me to come over when I get back? [Translation: You don't want to talk about this on an open network, do you]

[Heh. Apparently she hadn't heard his announcement from a few days before.]

I'm not in the village. Me and some of my friends are out in the forest, trying to hunt the spirits here. We should be back in a few days, I think.

[Sorry, Locke. She was kind of out cold for most of last week.]

You're in the forest hunting spirits? What for?

[he still doesn't know about that, either, since it was never "announced".]

To learn their magic. A lot of my friends and I don't have any anymore, and a lot of us didn't have much to start with. So I'm looking for the healing spirit to learn from to help Celes when she comes home.

[they keep missing things on each other, huh.]

So you're hunting them down? Are the spirits going to like that~?

[They do, but they'll fix it.]

If you just want to learn from them, yeah. You've gotta be patient, though.
