Fic: Bloody Torchwood

SUMMARY: Torchwood - outside the government, yes, and beyond the police, certainly... but there are other authorities that not even Jack Harkness can escape.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: This was written for round 4.02 of the writerinadrawer challenge, in which participants are given prompts and must complete stories within the allotted word count. The stories are then posted anonymously and voted on. The losers of each round are 'put in a drawer' from which they may not participate in subsequent rounds, and the winners get to feel very clever.
This story has been heavily altered since I posted it for the challenge, because that original story was frankly quite bad and I felt I could do better if I tried. This is the end result - it no longer conforms to the word count limit (300 words) and one of the prompts has been left on the cutting room floor (inclusion of two words in a foreign language, which I badly mishandled in the original). In fact, the only thing remaining from the original challenge is the prompt 'Things that go bump in the night'.

ETA: Somehow, when I first posted this, the old version of the story was successfully resisting being altered and the updated version vanished into the ether. It should now be fixed, and the good version of the story should now be in place.
