Personality If at first glance, you viewed Takuto Tsunashi as an upstanding teenager with a good heart… well, you’d be nothing short of right.

He’s definitely your model shounen/mecha hero; he’s a kind and friendly extrovert with a pretty secure sense of self and determination. When he comes to Southern Cross Isle (via swimming after he misses the ferry - a claim he didn’t want to miss the opening ceremonies, but almost certainly a test of his own abilities), he’s not shy to open up to Wako and Sugata, citing his own goals as a typical high school boy. In actually beginning school, he catches the eye of guys and girls alike, though for different reasons. Though it’s partially due to his status as an outsider from the island, there’s certainly more lurking below that shallow reasoning.

For (many) of the girls that surround him, Takuto is refreshing. Kind, open and friendly - and of course, quite close with Wako and Sugata, two extremely prominent people to Southern Cross Isle. That’s only part of it, however, as they’re also extremely taken by the boy’s appearance - he is quite pretty, after all! And in the context of this canon, that’s actually a relevant part of his personality…

That all withstanding, Takuto is also determined to a fault. When things get rough, he won’t give up - often reciting his motto, “It’s a pinch!” or its varieties as a sort of motivator. Whether it’s breaking into the old mine (which ended up being the base of operations for the Glittering Crux Brigade), or his determination to defeat said Glittering Crux and make it so the Cybodies they control will not be a threat to the island - especially Wako, the Southern Maiden. He is empathetic and caring - knowing that her seal remaining in tact and the current situation binds her to the island only seems to push his determination further. He wants her to be able to leave, to be able to pursue her dreams with her own free will; not because of circumstance against her control, or worse yet, never being able to realize those desires due to her obligation as a Maiden.

These factors are all a bridge to one massive part of Takuto’s being. In addition to being a student; he’s also the Glittering Crux’s greatest threat and oppostion: the Ginga Bishounen, or Galactic Pretty Boy. In this form, Takuto’s greatest powers can shine. He’s able to apprivoise the 22nd Cybody, Tauburn. Not only that, but he can do so in the third phase -- something that nobody in the Glittering Crux has managed to do. This enables him to move his Cybody at his own will - it’ll mimic the motions he makes, rather than piloting it like a standard mecha, as the others who’ve been shown do. His will and determination make him a formidable force in combat, when things get tough, he always seems to find a way to persevere.

Of course, these aren’t without another side. After all, a sparkly pretty boy hero cannot be without his faults. Though normally a fairly bubbly person, and a positive force, he has his moments of doubt. It shows particularly in the time just before and surrounding when Sugata apprivoises for the first time. He questions his place between Sugata and Wako, wondering if he’s merely just a third wheel, rather than part of a trio. It shows that for all he knows about their circumstances, be it from what he may have been told prior to coming to Southern Cross, or even what he learned once on the island - there are still things about his power and purpose that he doesn’t yet understand. And though he is often level-headed, when push comes to shove, even Takuto can lose his cool, evidenced with the way he lashed out at Sugata once he awoke from the coma that had been induced by activating the King’s Pillar -- though of course, it was not out of selfishness that he was truly upset, as Wako’s feelings were entirely the driving force behind his actions.

He’s also a bit prone to embarrassment, at least, when it comes to girls. Whether it’s from Sugata’s passing comments about CPR being considered a first kiss (though this seemed to bother Wako a bit more, outwardly), Kanako kissing boys through the glass window, or of course, his face landing in Marino’s breasts during a collision in a baseball game, it’s evident that Takuto is inexperienced when it comes to women and relationships; though it seems his embarrassment seems to stem most from sheepishness during those cute bonding moments he has when he’s around Wako. He’s yet to admit how he may really feel for her - even knowing that Sugata doesn’t care much for the tradition of being betrothed to a maiden, when approached about it, Takuto won’t talk about it, even citing at one point that Wako is engaged to Sugata.

When push comes to shove, Takuto is your average teenage boy. Except he’s really pretty, pilots a mecha that has high heels, and he transforms like a magical girl - with change of clothes and hair when it’s time for battle.

** It should be noted that the scar on Takuto’s chest that allows him to apprivoise is Tau (or tav/taw), the 22nd symbol in the Semitic alphabet. It takes its appearance in it’s Phoenician form. In Hebrew, “אמת” (emet) is the word the word for truth, and its later letter uses “taw.” The use of “truth” seems to represent Takuto very well, as it’s certainly a part of his core values. In addition to that, “Tau” makes up the first part of his Cybody’s name “Tauburn,” which is also the 22nd Cybody.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
✯ Friendly and Personable: It doesn’t take long for Takuto to start making friends; In addition to Wako and Sugata; their other friends taking an immediate liking to him, as do others like Mizuno.

✯ Determined: Takuto doesn’t mess around. If he sets his mind to doing something, whether it’s in regards to his Cybody or not, he’ll find a way. Even if it’s swimming across oceans and jumping out of windows…

✯He’s pretty: No, really. He’s like a magical girl with a penis. He’s a self-proclaimed bishounen!

✯ Compassionate/Caring: Protecting Wako and allowing her to achieve her dreams seems to have become a priority -- but it applies to Sugata as well. They come off as the people most important to him on the island, and he goes through great length to try and rectify all of the problems that are causing them unhappiness on the island.

✯ Skilled in battle: Takuto’s Cybody, Tauburn is in it’s third phase, meaning he can motion control it -- a definite advantage when traversing Zero Time in combat with the Glittering Crux. Not only that, but he fights well with swords -- dual wielding, that is. His two star swords, Saphir and Emeraude are invaluable to him on the battlefield.

✰ Unsure of his purpose: Though he comes to Southern Cross Isle with a purpose; he doesn’t know quite what it is. He slowly starts to figure it out, realizing things after he meets Wako and learns of the Crux. But beyond that, he doesn’t quite know his place within his circle of friends yet either; his put into a state of mild distress when he realizes that he doesn’t know if he’s part of a trio, or just a third wheel.

✰ Limited in battle: At least, to a certain extent. He’s powerful while in his Cybody, and skilled enough without, but when it comes to swordplay, he’s practically useless unless he’s dual-wielding. With one sword, he’s unable to properly carry himself.

✰ Reckless at times: Takuto’s determination can get the best of him - he’s confident enough to believe he’ll win, and that’s fine. But sometimes, he seems to forget his limits and his place, acting rash and making sudden decisions in the heat of the moment.

First Person Sample:
…Huh. [Before anything can be seen, that sound of thought can be heard. But with the shift of a hand, you can see bright red eyes, a mop of red hair, and a dazzling smile.] Oh, that did it. This thing really works almost just like a PDA, then! Easier than I though it would be, really…

Cynda! Cynda cynda! [A Cyndaquil emerges, having climbed up his shoulder. He looks at it, almost unsure for a moment, then laughs.] And you’re kind of like…

[He doesn’t finish the thought though, remembering that he turned the PokéGear on] So, if I’m right, this will communicate with other people here, right? I got the briefing from that mom-woman and the Professor… so here I am!

Wako, Sugata… are you here too? Would she even be able… Let me know, I’ll catch up to you both if you are. Oh, and if anyone else who sees this has seen them, just make sure they know that I’m looking for them! [There’s a brief pause, then an almost sheepish laugh.] "I" being Takuto. Takuto Tsunashi - they’ll know, so you don’t have to worry about that!

Third Person Sample:

Takuto Tsunashi wasn’t one to panic. Even in the most dire of situations, even in the most heated of battles, he knew how to keep his cool. Anger aside, he couldn’t let fear and worry overcome what could be a potentially dangerous situation.

He’d awoken in a strange place, with a complete stranger referring to herself as his mom. Off to a bad start already; but there was little doubt from the immediate moment that his eyes shot open that he wasn’t in his dorm anymore. No, even the Glittering Crux couldn’t have pulled this off. There was no way. That wasn’t to say he hadn’t considered it, of course.

Takuto didn’t know everyone within the factions; therefore, he didn’t know what everyone’s first phase could do. No, he hardly had a clue. The lack of masked people in scantily clad clothing and people moving about were an easy clue that they hadn’t made their way into Zero Time either.

So then just what was this place?

His first thought beyond that had been to run. Run to where he could find Wako and see if she was safe. Run to find Sugata, to warn him of the situation. There was nobody though. Not a single person he knew. No Southern Cross uniforms, no people masked in strange costumes. No friends, no classmates… nothing. All he had by his side was a strange animal that reminded him of the Vice President. They were similar in size and appearance… to a degree.

Admittedly, Takuto couldn’t help but let out a laugh. The little guy’s fur had an appearance that reminded him of his own. It didn’t seem like priority; not until he’d had it all explained to him. This was the world of Pokémon. Takuto found it hard to believe… no, was this really reality? He knew of Pocket Monsters, if only in passing. A fad from his childhood that he really never knew much about. He knew enough though, enough to realize that things were beyond strange… and that there could be serious, serious trouble if Wako was here and not on the island. Doubly so if he wasn’t there when the Crux was trying to pull off a massive scheme.

But there was a time and a place for that. He couldn’t panic. Not here, not now. No, he had to be as rational as he could. There had to be solutions for everything. Takuto wasn’t stupid. He knew this wouldn’t be over quickly. It was a matter of getting answers, figuring it all out as he could and restoring things to the way they were supposed to be. If this happened to him, there were surely others.

Step one, of course, was naming his Pokémon, who’s quickly begun to crawl all over him. He let out another chuckle. “Tau. I think with fur like that, Tau’s a good name for you.”

He gave the Cyndaquil a pat on the head, then reached into his pocket for the newly-acquired PokéGear. In bewilderment, he eyed it for a moment. He got the gist of its basic functions, but with no explanation on how to utilize them.

“Mm,” He paused again, and Tau made a curious sound. His eyes studied the buttons, and he realized it was simpler than it initially seemed. It‘d take a bit of adjusting, but Takuto knew he‘d figure it out.

“It’s a pinch!” He exclaimed as he took a seat on a nearby bench. He had this under control - there was no need to panic.
