So no one really knows this, but I went on a little vacation a while ago to try and "rebond" with my mother. I'm still angry with her. But that's not the point. We went to the Florida Keys, where my mother and her siblings own a trailer on Big Pine. Big Pine key is the largest key. I had been feeling trapped and decided to rent a bike to get away from my mother some times. I usually got up early in the morning, before or around sunrise and pedaled around because otherwise, it would have been too damn hot. (It was like 90 by 10am.) In any case I stumbled upon this during one of my morning rides:

Lytton, I just want you to know that when you need an escape you have a very long, windy almost private drive on a tropical island.
I decided that of all the three or so houses on the street this one would probably be yours. It's purple, and the sign just seemed so friendly!

You also have a park. I know you love parks. It's small, has a playground and a pavillion and backs up into one of the canals. You might even get to see some of the local wild life! Such as iguanas, birds, even the rare manatee!

I did! That, my friends, is a full grown key deer. I have some more pictures of them from the place I was staying. I thought one was a german sheppard.

Aren't they cute?
So, I spent most of my early morning bike rides looking for manatees. They occasionally hang out in the brackish canals on the island. I saw one once when I was little and have feverishly wanted to see one ever since. (And no, I'm not talking about at a manatee visiiting place. Legit in the wild manatee chillin' by some boats.) I didn't end up finding any this time around. By the end of my trip I was feeling rather like this:

I will leave you with one of my favorite pictures:

Isn't it pretty? le sigh.
