Friday Time
What was the last wedding you went to? Were you in the wedding?
I've been to three weddings over the course of my entire life. I was in one, which was my cousin's. I was a flowergirl, and I had a black eye. I think I was six. I don't remember. The second was my other ccousin's. I remember being miserable for it. It was hot and churchy. The last one was my father's friend, Evan.
Evan was a geek. He liked creepy hentai anime. He met his wife online. She was from Vietnam and had a couple of daughters who liked Sailormoon. So Evan thought I'd get along with the kids. (I was much, much older than them.) Evan and his bride seemed to be really in love and happy, so who's to say. I thought it was sketchy and fanboyish, but they did seem genuine. ::shrugs::
It was a really really strange wedding. Like, not strange in ceremony or any of that, but just strange in that the whole thing felt very surreal to me. My family really knew ourselves, and no one else. I remember we had bubbles to blow instead of rice. (You can't do rice anymore. It makes sparrows and pidgeons explode. (Oh what a loss!)) And little bells that you rang to make the bride and groom kiss. It was a small wedding and pleasant enough.
Now that I think about it, I don't think I know anyone who'll be getting married any time soon. Huh. Weird.
