I've been going back and reading fics I used to love, and just discovered this "sequel" to Galatea! I just had a passing interest in the D.N.Angel series before I read Galatea, but after first reading it, I fell desperately in love with the Krad-Satoshi dynamic. I was so in love that I printed your story out and bound it it into a book.
Eventually, my interest in the fandom petered out, because I could never seem to find that same quality of work on ff.net. It's been two or three years, what, but I don't think I ever have left you a review? Well, I've lost some of the blinders of the besotted-fangirl,but even so, this is a story I'll treasure as a "classic", definitive of my animanga fandom experience. I remember checking your journal, and discovering Tuti/Nagayan and the realm of RPS and the wonders of Japan.
It's been quite a while since you last updated, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm suspecting this work is on a hiatus? If that's the case, I doubt that you'll receive my comment, but anyways, I wanted to say thank you for everything that you've shared with the fandom and community. Thank you for writing such an epic "novel" and for expanding my horizons. It was an amazing ride.
Wow, I can't tell you what a smile this put on my face! :) I don't (didn't) write for reviews, but it always makes me happy seeing people just talking about how they found this fic, their presence in fandom, what they're up to. You wouldn't believe how my mouth kind of dropped open when you mentioned Tuti/Nagayan and RPS :OOOOO
When DNAngel went on hiatus, that was about when I dropped out to--it's very difficult for me to keep up my interest in a fandom that doesn't give me any new material, even when I have SO much already to work from (and my Remix folder has tons of snippets just waiting to be sewn into proper chapters). I think that's why I'm so heavily into *pnish* and MoriDaiki and Tuti/Nagayan now--with real people, you'll never have to see the series end. There's new stuff every day, new discoveries to be made, new "takes" on canon to be addressed, it's amazing.
DNAngel starts back up this month, and I plan on getting my hands on the chapter as soon as it's released. With its return I hope to revive my interest in the series (I recently purchase another set of manga from Yahoo!Japan so that I'd have source material here to reference, having left all my own stuff back in America, and then splurged buying the DVDs as well). I love it to pieces still, love Satoshi and Krad and their dynamic as well--it's all a matter of finding time to fit them into my already hectic schedule. But I love them too much NOT to do so, so do drop in now and then and check it out :)
First off, oh my gosh, seriously? That is so exciting! I had no clue that the series was starting up again; I'd thought it would be left unfinished. rah, it's too bad it'll be a while before the English version is released, but hey, there's a release, I'm not complaining!
I think the main attraction of a fandom for me is the characters/plot/action and the fanbase. But I'm in the jpop boyband RPS fandom right now, and the constant flow of videos/songs/material is definitely a big part of the lure. Sometimes, the amount of information produced can be a bit daunting, especially when you're away for a while. XD
And yes, I shall be stalking this and some other D.N.Angel comms. shortly. I'll be looking forward it! ♥
Yup! This month--and I'm assuming another English version will be out just as soon as there's enough to make another volume--they were quite quick about getting it out IIRC.
I'm hoping nothing new comes about, at least, that will completely screw up my storyline XD If so...well, there's always AU :D
Ah, so you're a Johnny's girl? I try and stay away from that fandom for the most part, because of all the crazies in it >_> On BOTH sides of the ocean, but I love Kanjani8...mostly because I'm a sucker for a guy with a Kansai accent *_____* XDDD
It's the same in Myu/*pnish* fandom--leave for 1 week and it's like you were never there in the first place *___* The fun thing about that fandom, though, is that it's small enough that you can actually interact with the guys on a regular basis. Handshakes, DVD release events, shows, radio programs, street lives--I LOVE IT! XD
