Well, if The Impossible Planet is made of Awesome, then the second part, The Satan Pit is just made of Win....
So, I shall start with the beginning of the episode, the Devil somehow traps the Doctor ten miles below the surface of Krop Tor and proclaims that Rose will die in battle. There is such a play on fear in this episode, I think every single one of us would be afraid to here the thing we fear the most.
Well, with the Doctor and Rose seperated, Rose takes charge of the team on the ground so they can disable the Ood while the Doctor heads down the pit to find out what is there - seeing as they have nothing better to do.
The pictures are of course the run up to and the moment where the Doctor doesn't quite say it. 'Oh, She Knows'.
This episode is full of fantastic leaps of faith, and the discussion of religion itself. I'm not a religious person, but I'm not adverse to others peoples view, I think we all have to believe in something, whether it is a religion or our own personal belief.
There is, of course, the moment I am heartbroken for Rose, and actually on retrospect this is a brilliant premonition of what is to come, the Doctor and Rose seperated. But not thinking about that, it always pricks my eyes when Rose says that she is staying behind and waiting for the Doctor. Of course, had she done that, this wouldn't have happened....
That's right... go to hell fire breathing man. This is such a loss of innocence to Rose's character, we don't often she her do such a deliberate thing - but her hand is forced. Anyway, speaking of the fire breathing man...
Do you think his protein one was a bit hot?? The effects in this episode where simply amazing as well, not only was there the fire breathing man but...
But the devil as well. He was seriously cool.
So, there we go, the two parter made of awesome, win and legends. It is still my fave two parter, (no longer my fave episode - these days, my fave is Turn Left, just a brilliantly written episode, that - we'll get to Turn Left in a few weeks)
So tomorrow, it's Love and Monsters, and there is only one part I like in it.... but you can't guess which.
