Okay, so the meme of days wasn't really working...

I just got to see Toy Story 3 with the family. It totally delivered on the build-up/expectations etc- which is more than some sequels/3-movies I could mention managed...

Haven't seen it? don't go under the cut.

So: My favourite parts? Well, Spanish Buzz, obviously. And his dance of infinite flexibility. And that scene where Woody won't climb up via the toilet seat without the loo-roll sheet as a protector. It was like "Hey, I may be desperate to escape, but a toy's gotta have standards!"

"You've got a friend in me" in spanish was also pretty cool.

I have to admit- I didn't expect that business with Lotso and the button. I guess Disney/Pixar is slightly less predictable than I suspected. That's good. Kids need that sort of thing to happen once in a while. Life lessons and all that. Probably.

And, yes, I cried. A little. Maybe. No-one saw. But I thought it was a good ending, if a little cruel on poor old Andy(he does seem to get quite a harsh deal sometimes). It gave closure. And once again, over the horizon comes that beautiful thing called a cycle. It makes stories about growing up not hurt so much, but also makes them pierce your heart in a different way. As we all grow up- as we must- new children are born, new childhood worlds filled with wonder are formed. We're not being replaced- what we were cannot exist again- but the story goes on. The journey, the endless dance, whatever. Though we sem to lose something as we grow- innocence, perhaps, imagination, wonder, it's more hidden than lost. we can still visit, even if it's not as often as we'd like. Often, the children are the doorkeepers. If we ask nicely, they'll let us poke our heads round the doorfame, for just one more glimpse of that life- too silly for us now, of course. But somehow... more fun.

So yeah, it was a good night. I'm glad I went.

I should go now- my sister needs her emails.
