So much to talk about

I've been meaning to post about several things, but I've been rather lazy with that. So, as a look forward to it kinda thing -
+ I finished my Kahlan costume! ^_^ I snapped a pic with my cell phone, but I want to post some better pictures. Only it's been super windy here for over a week so I've been putting that off until better weather. Hopefully I'll be able to get some pics up soon.

+ I finished reading Sword of Truth #4 (and a rather thorough skimming of Books 5 and 6). Of my flist reading these, what books are you on? There was some stuff in book 4 I'd like to discuss, but I'm not sure anyone is in that book yet. Anyways, I'll be doing a reaction post to these.

In other news, my primary hard drive died Thurs. evening. =_= Considering I had to be out of the house early Fri morning for job stuff I was very lucky that there was nothing on there I needed for the trip. Or at least nothing I wasn't able to access through email. But since I was out all day Fri I wasn't able to worry about the hard drive until Sat. I was able to recover my stuff that was on the hard drive. There's not a whole lot I keep on that one, my latest resume ver and some pictures were my main concern, but it was nice to get that stuff safely onto another drive. There are a few other things I forgot to transfer that I'd like to have for convenience though, so I'll have to hope it holds out for another round of transferring. I spent most of yesterday installing programs and getting my computer back to working order. A lot of time considering one of the first things I want to buy after getting a job is a new computer. >_<;;

So, onto the job topic! Friday I went for a tour of the site for the company in the not so great location. I thought even though they were calling it a tour that it might go into an interview since I've had no more than a 15 min conversation with anyone (and those more of "Here's a little about us. You still interested?" conversations), and someone had mentioned an onsite interview. Only it really was just a tour/information day. And it ended with the dude going "So if you're still interested after seeing all this I can start the paperwork to get the official offer going!"

I guess I'll feel a little more secure after actually getting the papers, but looks like I got a job! I'm hoping I'll get an interview with a company in San Diego, but if that doesn't happen I'll be taking this position. So with the time frame the guy gave me I'll be moving out in about 2 months.

The city leaves a lot to be desired though. I knew that before, but it's another thing to actually see it. As far as shopping, there is a Walmart and Kmart. Not what I considering to be places I'd be in a hurry to go. No department stores. Not to sound like the stereotypically girl, but I like shopping! And now that I'll have an income that can easily support frequent shopping it's being taken away from me! D: Sure I might be geeky programmer, but I enjoy buying shoes and pants too. And there isn't even a Best Buy. There is a Staples, but it's not the same. T_T I have a feeling I will be developing a new appreciation of online shopping.
