With my sister here I didn't get much of a chance to update, so I never said anything about our trip to see Wicked. Just in case anyone doesn't know about this musical, you can
look here. In short, it's the story of the witches from The Wizard of Oz.
I've never been to the Pantages theater before, the outside really wasn't too much to look at especially compared to some of the other theaters I've been to. The inside though, was very pretty. I was surprised by how small the theater was though. The stage and seating weren't small, but as far as other rooms in the theater, there was only one room that everyone entered into from the street. That was where they had the merchandise stands and refreshments booth, so with all the people it was very cramped.
Considering this was a last minute idea and we didn't buy tickets until last month, we got really good seats. We were in the third row of the balcony and almost center.
The show it self was amazing. The sets and lighting were beautiful and all the actors did an excellent job. The costumes were really beautiful too. For Glenda, it was the stand in actress, but I really enjoyed her performance. My sister didn't like her as much, but she saw the traveling cast just a few weeks ago and was comparing stuff to that. I figure she's going through what we do with the Myus and the first cast she saw will always be her favorite.
It was a fun evening, and definitely a play I would like to see again.
