Remakes Suck

The remake parade continues.

Many of you are aware of my solemn vow not to patronize movies that are remakes of other movies or movie adaptations of old teevee shows, so I thought I'd compile a small list of movies that fit the description. I'm trying to limit this to remakes that came out in the 21st Century, so please tell me which ones I've missed so I can add them.

I don't count movies like "Lord of the Rings" or "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" any more than I would count "Sense and Sensibility" or "Hamlet" because they are just re-interpretations of literature. I also don't count movies like "Serenity" or "X-Files" because they're just natural progressions from the teevee series into film using the original creative teams.

Hollywood's Inability To Be Creative:

Starsky and Hutch, Bewitched, Alfie, Freaky Friday, Cheaper By The Dozen, Flight of the Phoenix, King Kong, The Manchurian Candidate, The Ladykillers, Stepford Wives, The Hills Have Eyes, The Shaggy Dog, Bad News Bears, When A Stranger Calls, Pink Panther, Dukes of Hazzard, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Honeymooners, Poseidon, Miami Vice, Guess Who,

And now you can add Dallas and Welcome Back Kotter.
