How does a human grow wings? They're not attached; no, definitely grown, possibly with the subject. Like they belong there. Is the subject not human? Not a Pokemon. I require a more formal setting in which to analyze the samples ( Read more... )

You have a mute girl with wings?

What are you doing with her?

She is assisting me in the laboratory. Why?

Because she's my friend.

... So, she's all right?

I see. I suggest that you shed such useless attachments.

As far as her physical well-being, she may be better now than she was before. I gave her a coat.

You'll find there are a lot of people here who defy the conventions of "normal" humans.

If you're patient, I'd guess waiting until your first month is up might be the best bet for finding a more appropriate setting for research. You should have much better luck in the upper city, where everything's not crumbling and decayed.

But none that fail to meet my expectations.

...ah, right. I forget that exists. I suppose I could relocate. But I suspect that what I am looking for rests here. The upper level seems as if it were a later addition. Temporary.

You think so? I wouldn't necessarily call it temporary- more like it was built for an elite few to forget about this part of the city.

Unfortunately indestructible.

A sort of physical class barrier. Interesting. That wouldn't have ... occurred to me.

Temporary. .... It seems newer. I suppose that bears no meaning here. Like everything else.

Where?

Grown and grafted?

To what purpose?

She is human. It is quite simple to graft wings onto a human if they were grown for this purpose. There's no picky tuning or fuss at all. But really, it's a waste...

I see; a human as a tool, or rather a slate of sorts, to shape into a pleasing form, as it were. It does seem a waste. A pity. The joining was done well. Perhaps the conditions can be reconstructed and another person, as it were, made. Surely there are more useful modifications which could be had.

Does she speak?

Are people more mutable here, or was it done in some other place? Many worlds and many creators. Is this a stable point or unstable? How much energy does it take to sustain? Too many questions. Disappointing.

Is she yours? Come and get her. I have no further use for her.
