The manufacturing blocks of life are too small to be seen, and between them there is empty space. Those things which are thought of as solid are not solid at all; they are nothing but empty space. Everything is nothing. There is ... the abyss? The world is the abyss. It cannot be disassembled into component parts; it only crumbles to dust.
The people; the people here, are they real? They come and go, vanish. Did they exist, or are they nothing as well? When you look at an object, a person, what do you see? How it appears, or what it is composed of? You see why this is worthless. All things are caused by human action. What does it mean, to be human? Do you not realize what you are? All of time and space is before you.
I will not allow this.
Who among you wishes to change the world?
[ooc: Cyrus has mild mako poisoning from trying to deconstruct materia. If you are in the Department, feel free to notice him acting stranger than usual; repeating tasks multiple times because he can't remember if he just did it or not, reports being incoherent and missing words or stopping mid-sentence, and a complete inability to remember anyone's names. He's stopped eating entirely, will refuse to eat on grounds of feeling ill, and will clean everything obsessively. He'll continue to work in the lab until he collapses.]
