I have lost a little admiration for RENT in realizing that the plot comes almost directly from the opera. Except that Joanne is an unimportant old man (Alcindoro), Musetta (Maureen) ends up with Marcello (Mark), Scaunard (Angel) doesn't die, and Mimi does, everything is almost identical.
Also, randomly (but not), did/do Women's Detention Homes really exist? That was the most amazing movie last night, hilariously beautiful, but that one detail has been bothering me. Were there really special prisons for women who were sexually free?
People are so ridiculous (lame). Sometimes. But not really.
