What kind of electric car?

My leading contenders are the Nissan Leaf and the Ford Focus Electric. Tesla's "affordable" version is still over 20k more than these.

If you know any I should check out, please let me know.

The only others I know of are itty bitty "cars" -- basically more like golf carts for the road.

The Honda Fit EV sounds promising. Looked at the new pics of the Leaf and the Volt -- it looks like the Volt is being marketed as the electric vehicle for republicans. Just the design of the front grill and the logo and everything...almost comic.
