(no subject)
I have a nagging suspicion I'm getting sick. That odd "I've been hit in the trachea" sore throat feeling, and now a mild headache. Headache + sore throat usually = oncoming cold. Fuckiness. I swear I was JUST sick like a few weeks ago. Ugh.
This past year is on record for most time spent diseased in a long time... Last fall I could blame on the stress and total lack of sleep due to the babycatching, but since then...not sure. If it's stress does that mean I'm working a lot? (and therefore a good student/person?) Yeah, no guilt/perfectionist/inferiority complexes there...
The fam partied down with me last night. We coordinated baby juggling (most scrumptious nephewbaby EVAR, and good time with the fam), and they helped set up the new bed and rearrange the bedroom and livingroom. I loves it. My bedroom is actually thoughtfully laid out for function & space...for the first time in my adult life, it's not just slapped together in college-dorm-free-furniture style. And the livingroom (after a few "losing my shit" moments while buried in clutter and furniture and trying to come up with a decent floorplan) is actually breathable.
I'm soooo not a design person. Graphic design, I can do, but real-life design...not so much. I may have to abandon the plan for a trendy black/white/red montage and give in to the dark brown wood stains of the fireplace & exposed beams... chocolate brown/red/gold? Yeah, totally not a design person. But I want to finally live somewhere that looks NICE, not just in-transition-so-why-bother-decorating.
Ethical question - is it wrong to pick colour-coordinated fish for an aquarium so they match your living room decor?
Non-existant school work so far this weekend. I should take advantage of a quiet evening and peck away at the last of this business course...though this headache makes for sluggish brain power, and curling up on the couch watching tv holds waaaay more appeal. Not sure which side of this battle of wills will win out...
It was sunny here this weekend! SUNNY! Birds chirping, outside-in-a-t-shirt, tolerable breeze sunny. Purrrr. Bring on the summer.
