Hah! Except for the breathplay, that describes a lot of my childhood. (What, I'm the prisoner again? Okay!)
It’s also clearly written in every pamphlet, spoken in every speech, that men must not take the role of women, women must not take the role of men. Yet all he’s ever thought about is a woman or man taking charge of him.
That makes complete sense in this world. In conservative Christian cultures, they are very into complementarianism, which is the belief that men and woman have very separate, defined, and most of all unequal roles. (Egalitarianism is the opposite of this, and they use it like a swear word.)
