When I was a little kid, my parents had me interested in folk music and some country. And Queen. Obviously. No self respecting five year old didn't know Queen. Spice Girls joined at some point, too. I didn't become interested in other kinds of music until my first grade 7 dance, when I heard some AMAZING ROCK MUSIC and asked all my friends what it was. To this day it makes me snicker that the 'rock music' was Prozzak.

Anyway, one of the primary bands I listened to was The Tractors. I think I was their youngest in the fan club. I got mail and t-shirts and such. I remember when I was really sick one time, my parents called the fanclub number and told them how sick I was and somehow the lead singer talked to me for a few minutes. I have no idea how this happened, but my parents swear it was really him, and later on I got a autographed letter hoping I felt better. Tiny four year old fangirl me was MINDBLOWN.

In 1995 the Tractors released a Christmas album. It automatically became the only Christmas cassette our house/car played. 15 years later, it's still the only Christmas album that we play on Christmas day (although we do listen to Rosie's Christmas complilation, and TNBC soundtrack before the big day, and the five Southpark episodes play on repeat as we decorate), because it's just that awesome. Our Christmas tree probably isn't going to go up until the day before Christmas, but it became Christmas to me the first week of December when I baked the first batch of cookies listening to it.

So here it is... It's semi-country, but a bluesy kind of country, sort of swing. It's not Allen Jackson. Or maybe it's really country, and I just haven't noticed because I've been listening to it for 15 years. Either way, I hope you enjoy. And if you don't, don't tell me. I don't want people to piss on my childhood.
