Uesugi Kenshin
As you all know, Gackt is playing the role of Uesugi Kenshin/Nagao Kagetora in NHK's 2007 taiga drama, Furin Kazan (風林火山), which starts on 7 January. He says he wants to be a 'beautiful Kenshin', and I think he's succeeding in that. It doesn't look like he's going to be wearing a white cloth around his head like Kenshin usually does in pictures, though. It seems that Gackt was chosen for the role partly because of his beauty and charisma, and he also impressed everyone with his horse riding at the concert last year. Kenshin is also rumoured to have been a woman, which is something Gackt talks about in one of the books I wanted to mention here.
There have been a few books and magazines about the drama released this month. There's a list of official books for this & other NHK dramas here. If anyone's interested, you can actually buy most of them at Amazon.
I've just scanned the pictures of Gackt from the books I've bought. (Click on the thumbnails to see the full versions~ Some of the pictures are quite big & didn't fit in my journal layout). If you're interested in the drama in general, the two books I bought are both quite good, as they have detailed character profiles and information about the storyline (at least in relation to the first episode). I think this kind of thing will help a lot if we're able to download the episodes, as I doubt anyone will be translating them.

The book has a 'family tree' at the front showing how all the characters are connected to each other. The other guy here is Kenshin's adopted father, Uesugi Norimasa.

There are 'special interviews' with a few members of the main cast, including Gackt.
Gackt's also going to be in the issue of Fool's Mate that comes out today. It sounds like it'll have another interview about Furin Kazan.
