[Feliciano just happened to be doing some late-night exploring (may or may not have slid out the window without Ludwig knowing). He just happens to come across the sad little heap on the ground during his walk and approaches curiously]

[He gets on his knees, patting the child on the head. Oh how he loved kids] Nee, what's wrong~?

[Starts in surprise and instantly shys away, staring up at Feliciano with alarm. That face was familiar, but... but... why was 'she' so tall?! Terrified, the blond instantly darts around to the other side of the statue to hide]

[Feli was clearly confused as the little boy darts away, running to the opposite side of the statue. He begins crawling after him] Veee? Are you scared? I wont hurt you!

[That was Feliciano's voice, alright --deeper, sure, but he could recognize the Italian accent anywhere. Cautiously, the little boy paused at the end of the statue, frozen in place by uncertainty. He stands his ground, unwilling to run away but too terrified to come closer]

[Feliciano tilts his head as the little boy says his name, totally caught off-guard] Yes, that's my name~!

[He focuses his eyes on the child's face, trying to get a better view in the dark. Maybe he met him randomly somewhere? Feli had a habit of talking to strangers after all. But as his eyes adjust to the darkness, he felt like his heart really stopped] L-Ludwig? [What? ... What?]

Nein. [Tilts head, equally confused] Reich.

...Why are you so tall? [Speaking slowly, since English is not his native language]

Nine? Nine Rice is your name? [Feli's grasp on the German language... May be an embarrassing thing to witness]

[He smiles, sitting back on his knees and trying his best not to smother the adorable child that looked exactly like Ludwig] I'm tall because I'm a grownup!

[Sputters] Nein! [Oh god, what was it in English?] NO. My name is Reich.

[D8 What. Feliciano was NOT allowed to be taller than him! The blond stamps one foot impatiently] T-That's not true! I'm grown up, too!

Reich... [He repeats it a few times before finally thinking he has a decent grasp of it] Reich~! Alright then!

[He's taken aback by the fit, but finds it too adorable to do anything but squish the kid in a big hug] Ve ve, you're so cute!

[Stop struggling because apparently doing so makes this Big Feliciano hug him tighter. He's blushing so deeply that Antonio would probably making some sort of obscure tomato reference]

I... I... I don't need friends! [Sulks against Feli's shirt] I only have some servants, that's all.

[Feliciano was totally gushing over how cute this little boy was. He was trying hard not to smother the poor thing. Honest] Everyone needs friends! Even you... Oh oh, I'll be your friend, ne? It'll be fun!

[He smiles, arms wrapped around the boy in his lap happily] Do you have parents around?

[Admittedly, being hugged felt very... nice. And warm, which was a good thing on a cold night like this. Pouting and flustered, the blond carefully wraps his arm around the Italian's waist and buries his face into the other's shirt]

Nein. [Voice muffled. He feels sad, but he doesn't want to give it away on his face so he doesn't show it]

[Feliciano blushes as the little boy returns the hug, eyes cast downward curiously. Then he melts, heart turning into a puddle of goo. Reich was so cute and oh my God I want to keep him so bad]

[But there were bigger matters to tend to. He said he had "nine" guardians] I didn't know it was legal to have that many parents... Nine of them? I wanna be like that someday!
