I guess I should say that all is well... ...as well as can be in this shoddy mess we call America anywho... I'm working 2 jobs now, I'm doing commission work down at the tailor shop downtown, and I'm working in the mall at a Halloween costume shop. Both of which are good jobs to have on my resume!
I'm maintaining a 3.0 GPA at college, though I am switching my major from backstage to onstage (with a backstage minor and a art minor), I believe I've discovered what I want to dedicate my life to. I want to make horror movies, I wish to be the next George Romero! I'm in the process of writing a script, location hunting, and all that goodness. I already have a camera crew at my disposal, and a horde of bodies to work with. Production plans begin this fall and hopefully we'll start filming sometime this winter.
I've found the otter of my dreams! His name is Addik, and the more time I spend with him, the more I know he's the one! _The_ one! *bouncies* We've been going out since October of last year, we made ourselves official on Nov 16th (@ MFF07), we went to AC08 together and had the time of our lives! He'll be moving here in a month and a half, and we'll both be attending MTU for the fall. (Take note that his plan was to go to Tech before I even entered the picture! Fate much?)
AC was a good time, I got to see many old friends and I found many new friends. Thursday night, I dropped Addy off at the con, and went to go to my friend Aubrey's house, she offered to let me park my car at her place so I didn't have to pay parking fees. She's an awesome person for certain! She cooked me dinner and she showed me her workshop (she's a horror movie makeup artist) and we watched a couple vampire flicks and the like.
Friday, Aurbrey brought me to the Westin, and I got all settled in and registered and met with Addik & friends at the rendevous spot outside the dealer's room. Spent most of Friday tracking down friends and purchasing shirts & badges & sketches and all that goodness. Sushi for dinner, yum! Also checked out Eides', a comic book store sitting right behind the Westin, I picked up the cover art book from "Marvel: Zombies"
Saturday was spent checking out the art show and spending more time in the dealer's room. I ventured out to purchase some beers, and found it both expensive and difficult. Beer is only sold at bars, the party store only sold liqueur, there was a drink tax on top of normal tax, which resulted in a retarded ammount spent on 12 beers. We went swimming! The pool was nice, and the sauna was most awesome! (I'm such a yooper) I caught up with silvermoonwolf, which was nice. Honestly, I've had a bit of a crush on him for a while now, and it was cool to spend some time with him.
Sunday morning, my friend Aubrey showed up as planned. A week before AC, she had never heard of furries, not even 15 mins after she registered for the day, she purchased ears & a tail, was buying shirts and sketches and all that goodness. She took more pictures than I did for certain. She's hooked, and will be attending AC next year for the full weekend. =3 Aubrey took Addik and I out to a restaurant called Primanti Bros., where I had the most incredible fish sammich. Inch thick slice of bread with a footlong plank of fried fish, with coleslaw, frenchfries, and tomatoes smothered in cheese. Was a most yummy sammich! That evening we went back up to room and Addik and I had the first and only chance to be alone at the con...for lack of detailed description, it was magical. =3
I was exposed to the babyfur croud this con, and I've come to find out that they aren't as creepy as first thought. In fact, they're just like you and I, but their preferred way to blow off stress is age regression, we've all wished we were a kid again eh? Granted, I'm sure there are some babyfurs who _are_ as creepy as most imagine, but as we all know there are fucktards in every community that ruin it for the rest.
I'm starting my plans for MFF08, so far I have 10-12 peeps to reserve rooms for. Addik and I, TyOtter & GothicPalidin, 2 of Addy's friends, my mom & 2 brothers, Dragonnis, and possibly Haia and his mate. It's going to be an awesome con!
