i am thinking of doing the peacecorps and heading over towards that area. a girl i am dating off and on is over there right now.

i have always wanted to do peace corp too... i just have so many mental issues i dont know if i could handle it...but if i get healthy enough i want to do that so bad.

That's so brave. I could never do 2 year straight with out going back. The only thing I heard about the peace corps is that you don't always get to go where you want..you can state your preference but if they want to stick you in Tanzania they can. eh?

eh, africa is where MOST people want to go from the peacecorp reps i have spoken with. i am more geared with my degrees to doing conservation work. the fact i have lived in hawaii and am used to island living should help me if i sign up to guide myself somewhere warm and tropical (hopefully!)

And you don't have to go if you are not interested in the site location ya?

thats totally true, its just such a grueling interview process and they do really stress flexibility in where you'd want to go. But you'd have a great time either way.

unfortunately I can't do it for two years. I have two years left of my coast guard reserve duty, and can't join with the peace corps until i am done.
