There's a room here that they call the "hopper room." According to one of the CNAs, it contains two large bins into which they throw dirty laundry and garbage, respectively. It also contains a big sink with a high pressure sprayer that they use for "cleaning poop off clothing" (I think that's how she put it).
The question is, why is it called the "hopper room?" I think it's very unlikely that it's named after someone, and I couldn't find any definition at Onelook.com that seemed to fit. There was a link to a medical dictionary, but that page had a bunch of definitions, none of which seemed to apply.
Unfortunately, I haven't seen the room myself. I suppose I should ask someone to show it to me tomorrow so I can get a better idea of what's in there from a first-hand view.
Meanwhile, anyone have any idea why that room is called the "hopper room"?
