Letters to Ben Cross (Letter 51)
Dear Ben
Hope you had a great weekend! Mine was super fun!!
I went to a softball tournament, our last of the season. It was fun. We got slaughtered. But I had some shining moments (got someone out, got two people to home and a couple of other awesome things). It would have been nice but I think that at the end of the day if you're not having fun there's no point being there.
I partied a bit but I am a light weight. I had a few drinks, observed the drunk people and then sought out and found a camping spot with quiet people. I will admit to ogling a man for the entire weekend but it came to nothing.
As opposed to some people. I won't even get into that but let's just say one gentleman referred to his experiences with a few women as "Flying Butterfly Vaginas." Yes, he's that classy. Nice guy though. I'd never bed him given the opportunity. That would be foul.
My purchasing for Blood and Betrayal is close to an end. Now begins the wait for things to arrive in the mail. A couple of things have arrived but not the major ones. I am anxiously awaiting them and am hoping they will arrive this week. Even early next week. There are 24 days left until I leave. I know that sounds like a lot but it really isn't. Not when the post office is involved. Technically I have 23 days as on the Wednesday afternoon I am taking off before the flight might not be a day I can go to the post office. At any rate, I am checking the post office every other day.
I got my submission to the Jasons done and sent. I'm a bit glad that it's done now. I'm not saying there's anything good in it and it's in bits and pieces. That's really how I write. Bits and pieces here and there. A little bit of this a lot of that. And then it all goes in a file folder or a piece of paper or lays silent in a notebook. There will be a day where I revisit my friends in the books and pieces of paper. But not right now.
As for Oreana, I liked a few things of what I wrote. But first draft is first draft. And that pretty much means that it needs revision. Aah well, I'm sure that at least one or two people's submissions were in the same state. There's one naughty bit that at the end, rather than put in a 'good' character I put in her brother. I can't write that kind of thing thinking about the actual characters as it's so vile. But thinking about other people and then inserting the character in after is fine. I also toned down the wording as well as I didn't want to offend the people who were seeing it. All that learning about how to write dirty down the tubes..hahahahahaha. Tis ok.
I'm starting to get a lot less stressed about the game. I've received encouragement from others which seems to be genuine and I've arranged to have a rehearsal of sorts so I won't be too stressed. I have been told I do well in an antoganistic (not sure that's a word but you know what, live with it) environment. I am going to do well but the lead up is kind of agonizing in that awesome kind of way. Did I mention 24 more days? hehehehe
I'm going to start with my italian dialect this week. I've been super busy and have just not got it started. I still have 3 weeks. And it doesn't have to be perfect but it will be as perfect for game as it needs to be.
Anyhoo, talk to you soon. More sleep is in order.
