Dear Ben,
Hope your day went well. I had another AWESOME day!
Another day at When Words Collide. Another day of awesomeness and a "I can't believe the day is over." Over the last two days I've been engaged and interested in everything that has gone on at this convention. It's pretty awesome.
My day started with Contemporary/Paranormal Romance Readings which, to be honest I wasn't all that in to but the other choice was to sit and wait for an hour sitting in front of the elevator until the panel I wanted started. It was ok. Better than sitting around.
The one I REALLY wanted to go to was Art Journaling which was GREAT! Nothing like starting up the day with paint on your hands. It was basically making an art journal page for one of your characters. FUN!!! I've been fascinated with art journals but never really tried it...which is weird because I scrapbook and do tags.
The next one was 'How to Write a Dirty Scene." It was really good, though it was run by two gay men and I was more interested in Hetero smut *grin* It was insightful though and I appreciated it. And I have a better idea of how to write gay porn *gigglesnort*
The next one I went to was Reading for Writers. It was run by actor Gary Renshaw. I tried out my English dialect and I was SO nervous!! It was ok but I kind of folded a bit. I can do it in front of people I know, but to do it in front of strangers freaks me out. Which will be super awesome when I'm in LA trying out a new Italian one. I don't even want to talk about the terror that that instills in me.
The last one I went to was Scary Little Poems. I learned about Scifaiku. If you want to see my scifaiku go to my
gailcspecial page. It was interesting and fun.
I ended up talking with Gary a lot today. He is a very interesting man. He also knows my dialect coach and singing instructor. *sigh* I hope he doesn't judge my dialect coach for my falling apartness. I CAN indeed do an English accent. Except when I get really nervous and am in front of strangers. God.
In the in between times I just hung around and spoke with people. It was pretty awesome. I'm looking forward to tomorrow. Alas, it is the final day...but as they say, "All good things must come to an end." BOO! :)
