the Great Purge of 2009
Recent events (which I may/will chronicle later) have gotten me thinking about just how much of my stuff I really need. Considering that for the past four(!!) years, most of my physical possessions have been in some form of storage or another, it's time to seriously pare down.
It's about now that I really wish the comic market hadn't imploded. But after the other day's Wave One of Purging, I found about half of my records and 2/3 of my cassettes could go (and if you know me, you know what kind of numbers we're talking here). As shocked as I might have once been to say this, it actually felt good to think how I won't have to lug all that around any more. Perhaps it's a good thing that I'm sharing living quarters, so that I don't get any crazy ideas like setting everything on fire just to be rid of it. :P
