August 9th: Jishin o kanjimashita ka?
"Jishin o kanjimashita ka?" means: Did you feel that earthquake?
I did!
I had our first one while living here today (Of course I'm by myself!). It was a magnitude 7.1 off the coast of Japan. Southeast of Tokyo. Don't worry --it was only felt in the 3+ range here.
It truly was an original sensation and kinda scary after I figured out what was going on. Things rattled after it got a little stronger but that was it. Nothing falling down or catastrophic, ha ha. The cat was freaked out, though!
Not a large one but I am not looking forward to anything bigger!
