There is little effort in beating Sylar to a pulp, but it is not easy. )

Still, it was too late for Mohinder-- he already felt that connection between them, even if he doesn't understand it as clearly as Sylar does, and so things have never been simple between them, including now. Mohinder reaches down and yanks Sylar up by his shirt, and he hits him again and again, acknowledging their bond the only way he knows how, acknowledging that lingering betrayal in how he puts all his emotions into his fists instead of risking what might show on his face.I'm in love with this passage. It's what Sylar knows and Mohinder doesn't want to acknowledge, but reveals in the way he wields his body against Sylar. It very nicely connects to the idea of all the things that were never ( ... )

I also like that you're having Mohinder kill Sylar in the same fashion that Sylar killed Chandra. Out of all the Mohinder killing Sylar death scenarios, I didn't think of that one, but now that you pointed it out it seems the most obvious/fitting.

This phrase made me laugh because for some reason I suddenly realized that "Sylar logic" is summed up thusly: "Everything happens for a reason... and that reason is I'm awesome."
But yes, I think so long as Sylar saw meaning in his death, he wouldn't be very distraught about it. He would even appreciate how fitting it would be to die like Chandra, I think.
Thank you for reading. :)

Second, this is how their story MUST end! (You know, if they don't find a way to live bittersweetly ever after.)
The last line painted such a clear picture in my head.
Lovelovelove how Sylar 'understands' their relationship using his 'ability' better than Mohinder does. (haha, sorry for the quotes but I meant it with the caveat of Sylar twisting everything to be about him and what he wants. So selfish, that boy.)
Nicely written and a fitting end for their story.
