This is quite beautiful -- a poetically disturbing end to these fated lives. I like how you start off in the present and then start backtracking to remind and fill in the blanks for how Mohinder and Sylar got to this specific moment. The very one that Sylar may not have initially expected for himself but in the moment feels exactly right.

Still, it was too late for Mohinder-- he already felt that connection between them, even if he doesn't understand it as clearly as Sylar does, and so things have never been simple between them, including now. Mohinder reaches down and yanks Sylar up by his shirt, and he hits him again and again, acknowledging their bond the only way he knows how, acknowledging that lingering betrayal in how he puts all his emotions into his fists instead of risking what might show on his face.I'm in love with this passage. It's what Sylar knows and Mohinder doesn't want to acknowledge, but reveals in the way he wields his body against Sylar. It very nicely connects to the idea of all the things that were never ( ... )

Your first sentence alone makes me very happy. haha And I'm glad that passage stuck with you. What you got from it is just what I wanted to convey.

Oh wow, I'm so happy you chose this quote because it's my favorite of the ones that I contributed and wow, you did not disappoint! You did this prompt justice and some. I loved it. It was brutal and violent and yet, underneath it all that undercurrent of desire and want and just yeah, this fic was awesome darling.

You did a fantastic job with it. KUDOS xoxo

:D Thank you! I'm extra glad you liked it since it was your favorite prompt. When I went back to look at them again, that lyric just seemed to fit Mylar exceptionally well. It called to me, I tell you!

I think the aspect of this piece that I enjoyed the most is the fact that even while Mohinder is killing him, Sylar doesn't feel upset at all. He acknowledges that this is how things are supposed to end between them, and then uses his Sylar logic to twist it into something deeper.

I also like that you're having Mohinder kill Sylar in the same fashion that Sylar killed Chandra. Out of all the Mohinder killing Sylar death scenarios, I didn't think of that one, but now that you pointed it out it seems the most obvious/fitting.

his Sylar logic

This phrase made me laugh because for some reason I suddenly realized that "Sylar logic" is summed up thusly: "Everything happens for a reason... and that reason is I'm awesome."

But yes, I think so long as Sylar saw meaning in his death, he wouldn't be very distraught about it. He would even appreciate how fitting it would be to die like Chandra, I think.

Thank you for reading. :)

First, yay for picking the Tom McRae quote! =D

Second, this is how their story MUST end! (You know, if they don't find a way to live bittersweetly ever after.)

The last line painted such a clear picture in my head.

Lovelovelove how Sylar 'understands' their relationship using his 'ability' better than Mohinder does. (haha, sorry for the quotes but I meant it with the caveat of Sylar twisting everything to be about him and what he wants. So selfish, that boy.)

Nicely written and a fitting end for their story.

Haha, the quotes are fine, because even though Mohinder is struggling with what he's doing, that's definitely true about Sylar. XD

Thank you!
