nice while it lasted
So it was confirmed on Friday that my current day job is temporary, as the workload is declining and they won't need me. :( I liked working here, but I guess it'll be nice to have a job closer to home, if I can find one.
I found about 15 or so jobs to apply for, and I hope I'll get hired before the end of next month. Student loan payments are starting, and it's going to be a scaaarrrrry time if I can't get a stable source of income.
Plus a permanent job with benefits would allow me room to quit the part-time grocery store weekend job that has made my life an endless stream of work work work since July. (It would be lovely not to be paranoid that Manager C is going to, yet again, point out a mistake I made as if I'm incompetent, while insisting that she's not scolding me. TRY HARDER, LADY.)
I keep trying to work on the next Impaired chapter, but there are issues with Heather's characterization that are making it hard for me, plus it's just becoming difficult to care. I used to rely on the weekend for thinking time. Now, I just can't be sure when it will get done. (Not that I was rolling out the chapters back when I was still in school, but now it's just more ambiguous than usual.)
But I will finish Impaired if it's the last thing I do. Ohhh, yes. This will not repeat the fate of Unwelcome, aka Gaia's DBZ Fanfic Debacle of 200somethingorother.
