Well, my plan to exit fandom is going less well than anticipated.
I withdrew from my StargateAnon project, despite the great idea I had.
I signed up for the lonelytarts John/Vala thing-a-thon despite myself, simply by virtue of being one of the only two authors (so far as I know) to have already written the pairing.
I am struggling with my gateverse_remix commitment. The person who I got to remix is pretty much the anti-Gaia. Ze has over 100 stories, almost all short with more description than dialogue, and . . . . gasp, shudder, *het.* The sparse action and emphasis on character desciption puts me in a real bind. I write on a very scene-by-scene moment by moment, sports announcer kind of level (Sheppard chases McKay down the field, Ronon and some jealous blocks him, he dodges, he shoots, he scores! GOOOOAAAAAAL!!!!!), while my remixee writes more like Peter Jennings with a psych degree and in interest in human relationships, reporting on events past . I'm not sure I CAN write a remix that doesn't just take off in its own direction.
Am debating whether or not obligations extend to finishing 'The Lazarus Curse' or not.
Also, have the following fics started by not finished on my HD:
1. 'Untitled' How John and Rodney end up with Kako (From Thursday Morning Concerto)
2. 'Moose,' in the Mau Loa verse - Teyla/Everett, Ford coming to see Johna and Rodney
3. 'Make the Pie Higher' A humorous Tower AU in which John is made king, and fails miserably
4. 'Truth, Beauty, Justice, and Love' a story about the ATA mice
5. 'Five threesomes John and Rodney never have.' Self-explanitory
6. 'Untitled' fic in which Ronon and Teyla come to Earth in search of ways to fight the Wraith, instead of the other way around.
7. 'The Yoko Factor,' an AU in which Atlantis and the Genii are allies and Sheppard and Kolya are lovers.
8. 'Untitled Genderfuck' in which John and Teyla switch bodies
9. Other genderfuck in which John arrives in an AU where he is a girl
10. Three, that GEN Terry-Pratchett-style fic I started on ff.net and never finished.
11. 'Paper Moon' an ENT Reed/Hayes fic that's actually finished, just not ready to post.
I'm wondering if I shouldn't just post what I have of the mostly-finished ones.
Too bad I can't seem to write squat and the fanlib thing is making me even more sick to my stomach over the claustrophobia of fandom these days.
