The last line is amazing. And yeah, this is h/c to the max, but it's wonderfully done and is the "right" way. I'm so incredibly proud of Rodney, John, and Teyla in this fic. They were violated in the most heinous of ways and had to reshape their entire self-image, but they did it. And even became, arguably, better ppl in the process. I read this part and just said "Yes! Exactly!" Because he *gets* it. Gets that he can't get it.

he still wouldn’t understand, because he’s not a jaunty football-worshiping flyboy raised in a the loving lap of American military machismo or a busty alien warrior princess, leader since before the age Rodney even left the house. He can’t understand, and if he can’t, what good can he do, damnit?

Thanks! I'm so glad you liked it. I guess it's not h/c the 'wrong' way, just not exactly the usual way. *shrugs.* Rodney is a total Mary Sue in this fic, becuase he's just expressing the writer's emotions of 'how the hell would the characters deal with this?' ;-)

Whoa, so disturbing and I just couldn't stop reading. It's hard to imagine our heros to be that severely damaged in canon. I liked the idea of Rodney being the glue that'd keep the team together.

Thanks! Yeah, after coming up with the scenario, I realized that all bets were pretty much off, because how can you predict how people will react to things like that? I'm glad you enjoyed it.

P.S. I don't know why, but I find your icon very disturbing. Rodney smoking just looks *wrong.*
