I just finished watching "The Murder of Emmett Till". It is the story of a young black man(14 years old) from Chicago who was visiting his uncles house in Mississippi. He was kidnapped and murdered for whistling at a white woman and asking her on a date. Two white men arrived in the night at the boys uncle's house, and took him from the home. There were witnesses who testified to this.
His murderers were acquitted of the murder and found not guilty of kidnapping. They went free.
They went on to sell the story of the murder for $4,000 to a magazine and confessed. Due to "Double Jeopardy" they are not allowed to be tried twice for the same case. Just freaking ridiculous.
