AUGUST 22nd

So we learned early today that akiko's parents would be coming around 9 o clock. So sadly we were not able to make it to Himeji today because we had to stay home and clean up everything. We had left the house soooo messy and I'm pretty happy to say we cleaned the shit out of that place. It looked good, it looked DAMN good.

Akiko's parents arrived at 10, obviously going for that fashionably late thing. Anyways, THey gave us a ton load of gifts for our family, that was a double edged sword for me however. I had managed to fit everything in two bags I'd check-in and my one carry on. Having a third check-in bag is an 80 dollar fee. Because of how many gifts akiko's parents brought I had to use a third bag to check-in oh well.

We then had a conversation with Akiko's parents by means of yahoo translation device. It's pretty funny because some of the Japaneses akiko's dad wrote didn't translate very well. A couple of the better ones were, "Because there were no british meetings, I felt awkward." I think that had something to do with speaking english. Another one said "was the house an apartment in a house?" I don't know what the fuck that meant so Sean and I just burst out laughing whenever these were popped up.

We went to bed pretty late, I assume we were pretty anxious since tomorrow we would be leaving Japan. Hopefully the airport would go well.

AUGUST 23rd
The flight departs at 10:55, so we had a long day of waiting around akiko's house for us to go. At 5:30 akiko's parents took us to an awesome sushi place called sushi land, it was sooooo good. It was one of those conveyer belt restraunts. The plate stats were like this. Sean=10 Jake=8 akiko's dad=7 akiko's mom=6. GO AMERICA WOO! After that we left the house for the airport.

We got to the airport and we had to check-in our bags. I not only got charged the 80 bucks for the extra bag, I got an additional 50 buck charge because one of my bags weighed a lot, so that sucked. After checking in we said our farewell to akiko's parents. They helped us more that we could have possibly imagined so I do deeply thank them for everything they did for us.

After that we headed to the plane and got aboard for our flight to hawaii. Japanese airports go much more smooth than american ones, whoul'da thunk it. so yeah the trip to Japan was over. I do sincerely hope to get back there someday in the not too distant future. I could totally see myself living in Japan and doing the JET program, but who knows where I'll be in 4 years. So bye Japan, till we meet again on the field of battle!!
