DAY 8 - AUGUST 9th
So we woke up too late to go to Kyoto once again. It was around 1 or 2pm when I got a call from Gabe. It was a useful call he told me some cool places to go around here in nishinomiya and that Sean and I should hit up the sky umeda building in Osaka. I looked at my map and saw it was close to our train stop so we decided why not. So we headed out and arrived in Osaka around 4ish.
The building is fucking huge
hopefully that shows up. But yeah its a big building so it was easy to find and we just walked towards it. That worked remarkably well. It was really cool and pretty. And yes heather, I shouted GAGLARDI from atop the tower when no one else was up there. It was a really great view, really glad we decided to go up it. It was pretty freaky though. You had to take these escalators to the top, fucking terrifying.
After the top we checked out the gift store, nothing really there so we left the tower. At the basement of the building was like a Meji reenactment street with restaurants. We ate at this Udon restaurant that was freaking amazing. best meal so far in Japan. We then decided to head back to the mall called Yodobashi.
After that Sean bought a tiny screwdriver for his model that the night before we realized you needed a screwdriver to build. After that we headed back to Nishinomiya. before heading back to the house we decided to try and find the spot gabe told me about earlier that day.
Gabe, your directions were spot on, like freaky spot on. But yeah we got to this department store place. It was okay, we bought a couple gifts for people back home. After that we went into a used book store called Book Off. There was some used video games and I spotted the taiko drum game and bought it, but we are still on a quest to find a copy for Sean. After that we headed back to our house.
Sean was working on his model and he found out that it had another problem. One of the slots wasn't a slot, like they didn't carve out where a piece is supposed to slip in. That sucked. So yeah we sat around playing ds and watching great japanese soap operas. Around 12 I wanted some coke so I biked down to the 7/11. It was really nice biking at night and it was pretty mundane adventure. Oh! except this ugly ugly old woman bent at a 90 degree angle was following me inside of the store.
PS: Anniversary of Nagisaki, but it didn't feel quite as awkward.
DAY 9 - AUGUST 10th
Woke up around 1 and decided we would try to clean up the house today, but we haven't yet. So we went out looking for a temple by bikes. Instantly we ran into problems. We had to find out how to adjust the seat, that took about 10 minutes. After that we learn sean's bike's seat is broken so it kept bending up into his crotch causing pain. We biked half way to our destination then parked the bikes and left them to come back for because they were just causing too much pain. So we walk for a while and then realize we were heading south along the river, we needed to head north. Son of a bitch.
After that utter disappointment we walked back to out bikes and headed to get food in the mall around the train station by the house. We ate at this ramen place, it was the best restaurant for me so far in Japan. They let you have a pitcher of water! Also the food tasted freaking amazing. Actually it'd probably be second to the udon place we ate at yesterday. So after that I got some chocolate ice cream where the girls working the booth were quite cute.
So after the ice cream we went to the grocery store to get some food and drinks, that went well. After that we biked back and I came in here and started typing this. Oh yeah Japanese Girl's volleyball is on again. Japan is beating China/Taipei 9 to 8 WOOOT!
