I was very relaxed with all the redneck jokes before because you don't really get too many of 'em at home (Warner Robins), but I'm getting a bit tired of them. Granted, some of them are funny but mostly untrue. What irritates me is the fact that everyone seems to think that they ARE true. Country people are not retarded, inbred, morons who only shoot, spit, and sleep with their family members. Okay? Is that so hard to believe? Get a life.
I sort of stole this from my friend Nick. Yep.
"Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It's more than where you're born - it's an idea, a state of mind that seems imparted at birth. It's more than loving fried chicken, high school football, and country music. It's being hospitable, being devoted to porches & sweet tea, and most of all...each other. We don't become Southern - we're BORN that way."
Don't get me wrong, I'm in a perfectly good mood. I'm actually QUITE cheerful. Just thoroughly annoyed with certain ideas. I am tired of people who make fun of me for liking country music. I'm tired of people making fun of me because sometimes I talk "funny." Whatever. Most of the time I use better grammar and I have better spelling than all you people laughing at me. Thinking about this brings up another point that has been near and dear to my heart. This really doesn't have much to do with politics, I promise. However, what's wrong with loving my God, loving my country, and supporting our troops? I don't pressure you to become a Catholic Christian, do I? So why make fun of Christians around me? Do it to someone else who supports how you feel! If you don't like America, WTF are you still doing here? GET THE F*CK OUT! Now about the military. This is a topic I have strong feelings towards. This goes a lot with the whole "patriotic" idea. The military is out there keeping us safe here. So often they put their lives on the line FOR OUR LIVES! And how do you repay them? You act like they don't matter! Right. Part of the reason I feel so strong about this is my father was in the Air Force. He was in Desert Storm and Operation Enduring Freedom and ALMOST was in Operation Iraqi Freedom. So when people say shit like "why should I donate money to fund the troops when I don't agree with the mission" it pisses me off. So you don't agree. Is that any reason for them to DIE because you are to cheap and too much of an asshole to donate a buck to help buy them better armor????? Yeah, that's what I thought. So shut the fuck up.
Guys, this isn't directed to any of you in particular I don't think. This is more of a...new found annoyance so relax. I'm not going to try to get any of you!
