Played at Emack and Bolio's Ice Cream, in Albany. The weather was just a little chilly, and I mostly played to my recording device, until the same dear lady who stood (STOOD!) for four hours listening to me at the Troy Farmer's Market stopped by, with a friend (y'know, I never got her name. I did get a hug, but I'll hope she does e-mail or make contact; such a die-hard fan deserves admiration! I delight when I can tailor a performance to my audience's preference (she likes the "international repertoire").
ruperthemoose then took me down to Hudson, and I played at the open mic (did "Anachie Gordon", and my arrangement of "Scum of the Earth") at the Helsinki Lounge. Nifty venue; I'll hope to put it on next year's tour - the owner was not in, but a recording will be made available to him. The Mac and Cheese is amazing and wonderful.
This afternoon, we're off to Washington Park, to do another video shoot. I asked
ruperthemoose if there was a particular piece he wanted to shoot, and he said "Cruel War" - so it's likely to be Duelling Ballads, with "Cruel War" and "High Germany". Might also throw in "Flowers of the Forest", in a different take, just because.
Todays lunch plan is Saag, today's day plan includes a bunch of phone calls and practicing the above pieces. I'm not anticipating more performances before the train tomorrow evening, and tomorrow day is all about laundry and travel preparation, so I'm also not anticpating a separate post.
