Dirty Dancing! Nah, just kidding. I just like icon's version of that quote. :-)

What immediately came to mind was Felix working with Daniel Graystone in Caprica or even with Daniel Faraday on Lost. Daniel just wanted people to listen to him and he and Felix could commiserate about saving their peoples' asses a few times and getting no thanks for it or anything. Felix probably would understand everything in Daniel's notebook. Maybe they could even time travel a bit.

But in a non-sciency, not typecasty way I could maybe see Felix in HP world. Imagine him with a grown-up Hermione! They could talk about magic. :-)

I like to put Felix with smart people who would understand and appreciate him. (Okay, not Daniel Graystone. ;-)) And I think Felix would find much to occupy his mind in these worlds. I think my favorite is of him and Daniel. Two science guys traveling the world. Sigh. It's a nice thought. :-)

Dirty Dancing would be awesome. I wrote a Harry Potter/DD crossover drabble once. It's a lovely universe for a crossover.

I could see Gaeta bond with Penny...

Heh. I think Felix already does enough thinking for two people. I'd rather pair him with people such as Ronon on Stargate: Atlantis, or grown up Ron Weasley. People who you wouldn't call intellectual or verbose.

Well, now I'm picture Felix in the place of the Patrick Swayze character, and half-giggling, half-thinking he could actually be so suave at it. I remember him in the suit on Smallville. He looked pretty damn cool in it. :) And I wouldn't be surprised if with all that music and theatre experience, AJ isn't quite capable of cutting a rug when he wants to.

Heck yeah, AJ is quite the dancer. I could tell from the little dance battles in Henry V. He's light on his feet!

(seriously, what CAN'T he do?)

With that singing voice, I'd love to see him on Glee. He'd have been born there - another of the endless roster of former Glee Club members from Schue's student days - but one who went the opera route instead of trying for Broadway like April Rhodes and Bryan Ryan, and actually made a go of it. He got out of Lima, went to university somewhere with a good conservatorium programme, and now sings medium roles with an international-standard opera company.

Will, of course, is a) somewhat contemptuous of his choices, because he thinks Broadway is inherently superior to opera (for those of you who don't watch Glee, yes, Will is canonically a bit dim), and b) underneath it all, a bit jealous of his talent ( ... )

What an interesting, thorough answer! I'm not at all familiar with Glee, but I like your ideas about him being out of someone's past. I could see him as the several-episode guest star who provides a bit of conflict for a main character. And I like what you've done with the amputation, making him a successful professional who just happens to have lost part of his leg, and it's not really a big deal.

I found interesting what you said about not being in the military would probably make him a bit less rigid. I think you're right, although opera's also a field that's very demanding in a sort of similar way, and also there's probably a lot of pressure in that career to do things in traditional ways, for tradition's sake, which maybe isn't all that different from the military sometimes. ;)

Louis and Dee are fun additions too!

okay, now you have to write this fic. You already have it outlined!

I already have two Glee fics on the go (one of them a big bang) and three taking up headspace as I work them out - I don't know if I can for this one in as well! :)

I have always wanted to see Felix on Fringe. The truth is my pet character there is Astrid, and- ready for the deep part- I just want to see that much adorable curliness be awesome there. The Fringe team could use a hard scientist that's not whacked out on LSD, and I think Felix would be pretty safe from falling in love with Walter :) He's military science, which is a great combo for Fringe, and he might be a great person to occasionally, y'know, argue ethics with Walter. (Seriously- that show and scientific ethics.) And Astrid would get some love and some more screentime, because Astrid is AWESOME.

I also would love to see him on Big Bang Theory. I think he and Louis would have fun meeting the guys, and the guys would have a great time meeting them, although I'm sure they'd tell them exactly what was wrong with their plots and point out any inconsistencies.

Hee! They should all play Triad with Felix!

You make me curious about Fringe for the first time. They have scientists whacked out on LSD on that show??? (Incidentally, I really know absolutely nothing about the show, so you could tell me the star is a pink elephant and I'd pretty much be nodding my head, okay.)

Why would he be safe from falling in love with this Walter character, and who is this Astrid person?

I personally don't much like Big Bang, so I have a little more trouble imagining how that would go, but I have to admit that the idea of a meta-crossover like that, where they're talking about BSG as a show on t.v., while Felix and Louis are thinking about it as their real lives, well that would be pretty cracky but awesome, and hell yes, I'd watch that. :D

Fringe is awesome.

There IS a scientist whacked out on LSD, played by John Noble (see icon). He is Walter, and he spent years in a mental institution. He now lives with his son Peter (played by Joshua Jackson), and they work with an FBI division called the Fringe division, which investigates all the weird stuff. Specifically, they work with Olivia (Anna Torv). It's very X-Files-ish. Astrid is a younger agent from the Fringe division who is basically a combination of Gaeta (technobabble/exposition) and Dee (gets to be sweet and smart at the same time, and is a daughter-ish type of character. And she has curlsYou can NOT think about science when watching this show- the science is horrible. But if you ignore that, it's pretty awesome. It's a mix of serialized and monster of the week, and I really, really, really like what they've done with gender roles. Olivia is the logical, less-people oriented one, and Peter is the more social and emotional one ( ... )

Star Wars! (Yeah, I started a fic based on that premise once, but it kind of died)

2. Jedi Felix. no other explanation needed
3. after Earth was a disaster, the fleet decided to look for a habitable planet in a galaxy far far away
4. smoking the good stuff with Lando (cause you know Lando's got the hook up), learning how to be a jedi, making friends with Ewoks

I was responding to the questions in the main post. I think question 1 is pretty self-explanatory in this case. :)

I also think Felix on House could be amusing. Snarky, embittered genius with only one good leg- they're practically the same person. ;)
