I've just returned from the annual Victoria concours d'art oratoire... and guess what?? I won. But by default. But hey like Nevac says: "It's fun to win by default!". Tessa and I were the only francophones period. The grades 8-10 weren't too bad, but it's immersion. What more do I have to say. Ewww. Mr. Robbi was there. He's so incredibly patronizing. But I'm glad that I did it in the class this morning. The judges were really happy that I participated (they thanked me personally in front of everyone at the end and said that I'd win at provincials!). THey also gave me some good feedback. I have a few modifications I'd like to made, namely to my conclusion and I'd like to include zut, mille milliard de mille sabord and an example from the Old Testament. I also need to look up the origin, meaning of Saperlipopette in greater detail: for my own personal knowledge and in case the Vancouver judges ask me that question! I can't wait til May 7 (I'm missing Deaf Deaf World, the Behind the Tweed Curtain Tea and a field hockey game!)!!! I love art oratoire! And I'm pretty sure that I can go to Jeux Franco as a bénévole! Yay!! We danced on Friday at the Strings and things show and Joe's modified choreography of the Gigue A cappella from the OB talent show was perfect. It was absolutely magnificently (gigue JAD went well too!) We had fun and got to listen to lots of cool music (including Jason: twice!!) Joe had an awesome time in Quebec and is anxiously awaiting a time less busy so that she can teach me all the neat steps she learned. Wednesday was a sad and a happy day because my mom and I went to the memorial service for Joe's grampa. It was a really nice service (we all had a nice cry) and remembered Charles fondly. Tomorrow Joe and I are going to do the original Talent Show gigue for her dance teacher and tomorrow night we're doing an annimation (+gigue JAD and gigue 6/8)at Quadra school. Saturday I'm playing with a Strings ensemble for the International Walking thing. Then I have a field hockey game (missed the team's first two practices because I wasn't on that team yet...). And finally in the evening, I'm going to see Mt. Doug's Beauty & the Beast with friends (yay Jason for playing the really hard music!). Tuesday is dance festival, but it's going to be awesome. We're doing it modern style -black with ceintures flèchées. Chel, Suzi and Ell are doing a modified version of the boys' gigue assise then we come in, shopping bags and all, while they're finishing and want to prove that we're better than them. So we shoo them back a bit, put down our stuff and to the three person gigue a cappella!!!
Anyways I've still got English homework to do and it's already so late!
Toodles... CIAO
