Thanks for another fantastic recap, am very excited to watch this episode now!

See, I think Dean not wanting to call Sam was different. I think it was to protect Sam from him, from the darkness and death that surrounds him. It was to not pull Sam down with him. The glimmer of light around Sam needs to grow stronger so that when they do reconcile, Sam can make good on the promise he made Dean last season when he took over the trails -- he can show Dean there is more to life than death and killing, there is light at the end of the tunnel and that Dean's life is worth more than he could ever hope to realize. Sam can do that just by living and releasing the guilt that has been burying him. - THIS!! so hope that this is the way they play it :)

and you know the mark of Cain is gonna come and bite Dean on the arse......just how badly we don't know!!

oh, and btw, Princess Bride?!? you rock!!

Yup - especially b/c he didn't wait for the 'warning label.'

PB FTW! :) One of my all-time favorites.

Thanks so much for reading - hope you enjoy the watching as much as I did.

Now that Dean bears the "mark of Cain", is he immortal & have powers like Cain ?

Oooo! Good question. And! I wonder if that is the "burden" that Cain was referring to -- immortality. Only someone who has been immortal would probably refer to it as a burden.

Iiiinnnnnteresting. *ponders*

Q: Did Cain's house look familiar to anyone else? I swear they used the outside of it before. And the flow of the interior looked a LOT like Bobby's house...anyone know if they used the same set?

A: From Jared's tweet: Does anybody else think that cains house looks an AWFUL lot like Bobby's house?? ;)

I'm glad you liked the ep! I thought you would... I did too!

Ha! I knew it! :) I can't keep up with Twitter -- I bet there were all kinds of anecdotes and tid bits there.

So glad you enjoyed!

The outside of the house reminded me of Bloodlust, S2.

This was an amazing episode...and Dean + mark of Cain fills me with dread. I'm betting on 'Dean has to kill Sam to save him' scenario...and I don't think I could survive that...

You pretty much singled out the things that were highlights for me, especially the great one-liners scattered throughout. And Jensen's acting.

This fight scene has to be the one Jensen referenced at ChiCon that took 9 hours to film.

The only thing that threw me is Cas' sudden healing of all of Sam's physical symptoms--if Sam regressed to his pre-Gadreel state, then wouldn't Cas' comment from the ep where Cas got the angel tablet apply--'you're damaged in ways I can't heal?' Bzwhut?

But Dean and Cain's mark--it's going to be bad...

I forgot he'd mentioned that about filming the fight scene! You're right.

Cas healing Sam...I know. I thought about putting that in my 'meh' list, but then decided that I was just glad he was healed and we didn't have to have broken, wounded Sam anymore. My logic is that he meant that Sam was starting to regress, and now that Cas knew the grace was there, he was able to use it to like...supercharge his healing powers and voila! All fixed. He'd hesitated doing so before because he wanted to use it to track Gadreel ( ... )

I loooove reading your rambles. Esp when it's after I've written down my thoughts.

You have such a good analytic mind.

I was literally vibrating and shouting. FINALLY DEAN HAS A STORYLINE!!!!

But man...be careful what you wish for. The shitstorm is a coming w this one I think!!

Soooo much happened. I have to watch this 2 more times to finish my review.

Yeah, I hear ya on that one. The "warning label" makes me anxious -- mostly because Cain seemed so earnest about it. There's going to be something there for Dean that is going to rock us on our heels, but right now, part of me is okay with that because he's woven into the storyline again in a way he hasn't been for several seasons.

Pretty sure it's going to ultimately make me cry, though.

Thanks for reading. :)

Dean's pain was a whole 2nd character in this eps. Jensen was bringing it and then some!!!

I'm with you. Having Dean be an active part of the mythology has me so flipping excited I can't even take it.

Emo Sam couldn't even bring me down lol.
