"It don't gotta be you, though, Dean." Such a true statement, but somehow, I don't think Dean believes that. Dean has never been one to shirk a hunt, to say, let some other hunter take care of it. He shoulders such responsibility that he just can't let go and allow someone else to handle, he thinks and feels that he needs to be, or should be the one to take care of those things.
