I'm starting this mainly as a journal to fulfil my requirements for the Dedicant Program in the ADF. I'm unaccustommed to journalling, except for writing down dreams that seem particularly important to remember, so I don't have high hopes for this.
For the dedicant program, i will be recording the results of meditations and rituals, and (with an eye to joining the Seer's Guild) the results of devinations, and dreams.
Two dreams to record right away: the first more than ten years ago started me on the 'Goddess' path from the Native path. The second, a few weeks ago, is still running around in the back of my brain, poking it's nose into conversations and slowly making perfect sense.
1) I am standing in a large cavern with roughly two dozen others. There are chairs set in rows (like a concert hall) but the seats number in the thousands. At one end of the room is a raised dias, and on a giant pallet lies the sleeping body of the Goddess. I don't know which specific Goddess, but everyone has gathered to watch her awaken. But the few who are there are all that still believe.
Along one wall of the cavern a feast has been laid out on trestle tables, but again it would suit thousands better than the few who are present.
The Goddess does awaken, and is furious to see so few believers waiting after her long sleep. She begins asking people questions, and destroying them if they fail to answer. She gets to a person I recognize, a friend of mine, and I lose my temper (my sanity?) and start yelling at the Goddess. "How dare you? Do you think you have so many followers that you can throw these away?" And the Goddess turned to me and smiled, "That is the fire that I need to build the new world." And with that, her personality changed and she began giving the people there gifts which could be used in the coming rebuilding. One received a pocket to carry things which he could not carry, one received the gift of knowing what things mean, I received the gift of seeing.
However, it took years to begin to See anything, and it's still sporadic. I would love to learn to See more.
2) I was having short blackouts during the day and evening, coming to myself to find that time had passed without me. Sometimes I was talking to someone, but couldn't remember the conversation, sometimes I was in a different place from where I remembered being. Once, I came to myself in Ireland.
Then I came back to myself flying over a cobbled street. I was already starting to land when I realized what was happening and landed badly. Hardly anyone on the street seemed to notice, so I just tried to blend in til I could figure out where I was.
It was a kind of Ren Faire, so I just wandered around with the rest of the tourists. I found an older man, with full white beard and laughing eyes, who was running a stall selling stepping stones. He made them himself and most incorporated pagan symbols; like a labrynth, a spiral, etc.
I asked if I could stand on the one with a spiral and he nodded. When I stepped on it, I was hit with a blast of energy and knocked off the stone. The man laughed at me, I "should have enough sense not to step on a Godstone when I'm not being ridden." I asked him what he meant and he replied that the old Gods ride again, and laughed at my confusion. He asked if I did not remember him, for he carried Ca-Mog (I have no idea who this is) and he turned and left me. His last words sounded happy and excited. "The Morrigan rides."
The next weekend was a Druidic devination ritual. I'll describe that later, but it seemed to have bearing on my dreams.
