This was the almost empty Quad on Wednesday, Usually in the middle
of a class day, sunny and in the high 60s, it would be filled with
students sitting in the grass, playing Frisbee, listening to music,
chasing dogs. This is more like it usually is in summer when classes
are not in session.
My students definitely want to be in class. They are sick of being
at home, sick of being shut up, sick of not being around their friends
or others their own age. But they are trying to be careful. They're
wearing their masks, they're distancing -- the classrooms have the
desks set at the requisite distance and the other desks and seats are
taped off, like a crime scene!
I have a couple of students who are Remoters. I try to include them
in the discussions as much as I can.
Everyone is keeping fingers crossed that we'll make it to Thanksgiving
when on campus meetings are due to end.
Everyone take care and stay safe!
