Just a brief post-conference comment
Once again, I want to thank you all for contributing
your thoughts on OMC/OC for my paper at the conference.
Your input sustains the points I'm attempting to make!
Just to let you know, my paper was nominated for the
Donald Award, which is given to the presenter of the
best paper at the conference. How they actually determine
this is a mystery to me, but a number of people nominated
me, so I'll take that as a win already.
It's also proof that they are taking work in the area
of fanfiction seriously. That's also a win.
Onward to Thanksgiving and the next chapter of "Coup
de Foudre." It's a doozy.
Oh, just an addendum -- after the paper I had TWO women
came up to me (separately) to ask how to find the Ron/Tony
Goldwyn stories. They were both young (20's) African-American
grad students and huge "Scandal" fans. They also asked me to
let them know if I ever decided to do a QAF/Scandal crossover!
