Cardinal Lake
I was going through my mother's old photo albums,
looking for pictures to scan when I found these.
Pictures of the cottage at Cardinal Lake. I'd say
they are circa 1963 or so. I think my description
of the cottage in "Queer Realities" and "Queer
Identities" was pretty good, considering I hadn't
been there since around 1967!
Note the deer head over the fireplace, the deer rug on
the floor, the phonograph and records, the ladder to
the second floor.
That's my mom, Burns, in the pics, with the owner
Jim (a very closeted gay man back in the day). My
dad is taking the pics, as usual.
Here's the lake more recently. It's now a "gated community."
