As some of you may know, my site, Gaedhal.com, was down for all of
June and much of July. That was something out of my control, so
I tried to deal with all the e-mails individually while I asked
for readers to be patient.
Site came back up and I had to re-update some of the links. No
problem. Then, over the weekend, it went down again and is still
down. I don't know if it's going to be back up in a day, a week,
or another month. This is distressing for my readers, but also
because I'm doing a conference in November on fandom and fanfiction
and I need to reference my own sites as examples.
After AOL's webpages went belly-up (I'd had my pages there for over
10 years), I looked for a site that was fan-oriented and also
stable. BJfic.net was both of those things, so it seemed a perfect
fit to pony onto them. But in the past few months it hasn't been
so good. I think BJfic.net is still down (it went down while I
was still posting "Bell, Book, and Candle" there, so that might
tell you). Meanwhile, all of the "Queer Theories" Streams are
unavailable, along with "Medium Security," "The Angel Stream,"
"Wayfarers," you name it. Frustrating isn't the word for it.
So, I'm stuck right now. Moving my entire site right now (and where?
and how?) is a nightmare I don't want to think about with classes
beginning shortly. But this is also an inconvenience to all of my
readers (not to mention the e-mails I have to deal with daily,
asking about where the hell are the fics?!).
So, kids -- last year I asked you all for your input -- and I'm
back to ask again.
Thanks,
Gael
