I just realized that I havent posted much about going to school... not that its a huge deal, but it's kind of taking over my life at this point, so its just suprising that I haven't been prompted to write about it more.

First the big news -- I was finally officially admitted into the program on Thursday... yay! Dr. Stillman stopped me in the parking lot of Callier Richardson to tell me. Plus, he said that he tentatively put me in Pre-Verbal for my first practicum next semester. Pre-Verbal is a program for young children (17 months to 5 years) who have not yet begun to use language. This semester, 10 out of the 12 kids in the program are, or will be, diagnosed as autistic. I'm pretty excited about that! Not only because I took Seminar in Autism this semester and found it facinating, but also because it would be a great place to do my first clinical work ever -- these kids wont judge me if I really screw up. :)

I got a pretty good score on my GRE, which I took at the end of September. It felt like I was doing aweful the entire time, but its a CAT test, so its designed for that. It's evil. But now its overwith, and I don't think I'll ever have to take it again. :) I got 180 more points than Dr. Stillman said that i would need for easy entry into the program, so I feel pretty good about that!

Besides Seminar in Autism, I'm also taking Adult Neurogenic Communication Disorders I this semester, which I am really enjoying -- I did really well on the midterm (97!). Adult Neuro is actually the field I was most interested going in to the program -- and I'm still really interested in it, though Autism is gaining momentum too. I'm also in Anatomy and Physiology of speech and hearing. I'm actually studying for that test right now... test over the A&P of articulation, which is mostly the bones and muscles of the face and mouth. Lastly, I'm in Intro to Communication disorders, which is an undergrad class... and really really easy. So no worries there!

I still don't know what my schedule is going to be like next semester, and for some odd reason they still havent released the schedules online yet, so I guess I'll just have to wait to figure that out!
